AutoRent, located centrally in Cranston, Rhode Island, serves as a key local provider for these short-term transportation needs. Positioned within the expansive automotive hub on Pontiac Avenue, AutoRent functions as a dedicated car rental agency offering its services to the general public, often specializing in models suitable for the New England terrain and local travel demands.
The agency’s affiliation with a major local automotive group suggests access to a dynamic and diverse fleet of vehicles, potentially including various classes of cars, trucks, and vans that cater to a wide range of customer requirements. Navigating the need for a rental car—especially during unexpected times like vehicle repair—can be stressful. By offering features such as convenient access and flexible payment acceptance, AutoRent works to minimize disruption to your daily routine. It's crucial for any renter to be aware of the full spectrum of the rental experience, which includes both the convenience of the service and the importance of professional due diligence in all transactions, ensuring a satisfactory outcome from pick-up to return.

For Rhode Island residents, choosing AutoRent offers a combination of key practical benefits. The agency’s most compelling features are the accessible location and the flexible payment options.
The Cranston location on Pontiac Avenue, with its confirmed Wheelchair Accessible Entrance and Parking Lot, provides a significant convenience for all customers, especially those prioritizing ease of access or simply wishing to avoid the congestion of airport rental hubs. The provision of ample On-Site Parking for your own vehicle when picking up the rental further streamlines the process.
Furthermore, the acceptance of Debit Cards is an essential feature that makes car rentals available to a broader customer base, offering an alternative to those who may not have a credit card or prefer not to use it for a rental deposit. This financial flexibility is often a deciding factor when selecting a local rental provider.
However, users should always approach their rental with careful attention to detail and clear communication. The publicly available customer feedback, which mentions issues related to the cleaning of rental vehicles before re-rental, the return of forgotten personal items, and unexpected charges, highlights the critical importance of being proactive. Before driving away, customers should thoroughly inspect and document the vehicle's condition and cleanliness, and upon return, ensure a staff member visually inspects the car for forgotten belongings or damage to prevent any future disputes. When dealing with payments or insurance claims, it's prudent to request and retain detailed, itemized receipts and written confirmation of all agreed-upon charges and follow-up plans.
In summary, AutoRent in Cranston offers the physical convenience and transactional flexibility that many local Rhode Islanders seek, but a proactive, documented approach on the renter's part will help ensure a fully positive and professional experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They don’t clean the cars before renting them again. I left a backpack in the car the day I dropped it off. I called later that same day and stated that I had forgotten the bag. The car was still in their custody and o was told they were going to do a thorough check and look through the car to find the bag before renting it out again. The dude did a half ass job (bag was in the backseat… large black backpack on dark gray seats) I came in being told that it would be in the building. Once there I was told they didn’t find it in the car. Kia called the person who rented the same car and she had found the bag as soon as she looked in the backseat.. never rent for them!
February 14 · Noel MaroldI never write poor reviews and im an extremely cooperative person but I feel compelled to write this because of the horrible customer service I recieved. About a month ago I had to rent from autorent in tasca because my car went in for a recall. While the rental was in my posession a rock hit the windshield. Upon returning the vehicle I let them know about the scenerio. I was ready to rectify the issue however I could. I asked for a quote first for out of pocket thinking I may not have windshield coverage on my insurance. After about 10 days I recieved a quote for $1300 from Cassandra. I called to see if I could bring it to my repair guy. Days later I recieved a call from Ed the original guy saying to call he had better quote. I called back leaving a voicemail and never heard from anyone. That following friday I got my credit card statement and they charged me $500 without my authorization. I tried calling 3x speaking to 2 people Ed and Dennis with no answers. When my efforts to reach Cassandra proved futile I called Tasca in order to reach Autorents GM. Well Dorian the GM was rude and argumentive. Telling me they had been calling me for weeks leaving voicemails that I never recieved. This was a lie. She also told me my insurance wouldnt cover the special windshield they had to put in. So i was forced to pay $500 with nothing but a general reciept showing payment. Who knows where the money truely went. In the meantime I called my insurance and they assured me that I was covered with a zero deductible. I was reimbursed by my insurance company thankfully. If my car has to go into tasca ever again il uber because these people are ignorant and unprofessional but thats expected nowadays since no one does their job.Save yourself the headache and get a ride
October 03 · Jaimie SantagataThis was back in 2019, nonetheless, I feel the need to share.I had a terrible experience with one of their employees, Madison. I received a call from her regarding a toll bill that had just arrived in May 2019, long after I rented in 2018. I bought this SUV from Tasca Ford and theu messed up my title paperwork. As I tried to clarify some details, Madison became increasingly defensive and condescending. She suggested that I was tarnishing the company's reputation and insisted that I take immediate action to pay a $127 toll bill. Despite my attempts to engage in a conversation, Madison remained rude and unprofessional, interrupting me, accused me of yelling at her and this was not the case, and she hung up in my face and refused to answer when I called back.Upon further investigation, it was revealed by the MA EZ Pass Customer Service Rep that the bill had never been transferred into my name. Consequently, all fees were waived as it was determined that the oversight was on Madison's part. It's worth noting that I am a Platinum Plus Member with Enterprise, and any toll charges are typically billed directly to my card. Unfortunately, this process was not adequately explained to me, and I did not inquire about it.I emailed slim@autorentri but didn't receive a reply, and I doubt the branch manager reprimanded Madison.
April 09 · M. MooreGreat customer service, Lisa was very responsive and helpful. She had all the paperwork ready and even helped with the communication with the insurance company. Lisa made sure that all of our expectations were met. Highly recommend working with Lisa and her company. Also would like to mention how helpful Gina is. Great teamwork!!
February 17 · Luis CorreiaI don’t usually write reviews but this time I just had to. I am in customer service and have been for over 30 years. I pride myself on putting my customers needs first and foremost. Love seeing them smile as they exit my establishment. With that being said I have to say I don’t really get the same treatment anywhere. Well that all changed when I had the please of dealing with a Woman by the name of Lisa. My Husband and I needed to rent a vehicle for a road trip. Lisa was so helpful with every step of the process. She was funny and personable. When leaving there in our rental my Husband and I actually talked about her and the outstanding customer service she provided us. I would highly recommend Lisa and the entire Autorent Family. I’ll never go anywhere else. Great job crew!! Keep ur the good work!
