The agency markets itself on providing a unique, **hassle-free rental** experience, often centered around a contactless pickup process that is designed to get the user on the road quickly. They claim to offer savings of up to 25% off traditional rental companies. Their fleet includes a range of vehicles categorized for rental, such as Value, Compact, Standard/Mid-Size, SUV, and Luxury, suggesting an attempt to meet varied customer needs, from basic transportation to more spacious options for traversing Arizona's vast landscapes.
However, potential users should proceed with a high degree of caution, as public reviews indicate a highly inconsistent and often problematic customer experience. Common complaints highlight significant issues with vehicle condition—such as atrocious cleanliness, strong odors, and neglected basic maintenance (like under-inflated tires or malfunctioning air conditioning in 115-degree heat). Furthermore, there are serious reported discrepancies between booking terms (e.g., "unlimited mileage") and final charges, with unexpected fees for excess mileage being deducted. The company’s practice of allegedly claiming not to have pre-uploaded proof of insurance and then aggressively demanding the purchase of their own liability coverage has been described by customers as a "scam" or a "ploy to push additional charges." As one reviewer emphatically stated, the initial cheap price may prove "misleading" when final costs are tallied, resulting in a low-value experience overall.
This address places the facility in a highly accessible area immediately east of the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). Its proximity to the airport is a notable advantage for travelers, though the company generally handles the transition via curbside pickup service rather than requiring customers to navigate the main airport car rental center. The company advertises **free curbside airport pick up** to and from the vehicle, which is a significant convenience feature for incoming and departing passengers.
A key feature of Carzi's operational setup is its availability. Customer service and vehicle pickup are often advertised as being available **24 hours a day, 7 days a week**, an essential capability for a company catering to air travel arrivals at any hour. This round-the-clock availability is intended to support their contactless and self-service model.
In terms of physical access, the facility at 44 N 44th St is noted to be compliant with important accessibility standards, offering a **Wheelchair accessible entrance** and a **Wheelchair accessible parking lot**. This confirms the business's dedication to providing physical access for all users, regardless of mobility requirements.
- Affordable Car Rental: Providing rental vehicles at highly competitive starting daily rates, beginning from **$19.00** for their Value class vehicles, with different price points for Compact, Standard, SUV, and Luxury classes.

- 24/7 Service Availability: Offering vehicles available for pickup and support 24 hours a day to accommodate all flight schedules at PHX.
- Free Curbside Airport Pick-up: Facilitating convenient transfer to and from the vehicle at the airport location.
- Used Car Sales (Used car dealer): Operating a separate segment as a dealer for used vehicles, potentially cycling their older rental fleet into sales inventory.
- Multiple Payment Methods: Accepting major forms of electronic payment, including **Credit cards**, **Debit cards**, and **NFC mobile payments**.
- Extreme Budget Pricing: The primary highlight is the advertised starting rental rate of **$19.00** per day, which aims to be highly disruptive and significantly undercut competitors' prices in the Phoenix market.
- Digital/Contactless Convenience: The business model is built around a modern, tech-forward approach with contactless pickup, intending to save time and eliminate lines for the customer.
- 24-Hour Operation: Vehicles are often available for pickup and drop-off 24 hours a day, providing flexibility for all travel plans.
- Centralized Location: Being situated on N 44th St provides extremely close proximity to the PHX airport, a practical advantage for travelers.
- Wide Payment Options: The acceptance of **Credit cards**, **Debit cards**, and **NFC mobile payments** offers broad flexibility for booking and securing a rental.

Due to the reported issues with phone support in customer reviews, it is advisable for all users to utilize their mobile phone number for text chat support, which may be the most direct line of communication, and to save all written communications for documentation purposes.
This agency is strictly for travelers who:
- Require the absolute cheapest rental possible, and whose travel demands are minimal and confined to short, local distances where potential mechanical or comfort issues are manageable.
- Are experienced renters who understand the need to meticulously document every detail of the vehicle's condition (with time-stamped photos and videos) before, during, and after the rental period.
- Are prepared for unexpected costs and will closely scrutinize the final contract to confirm mileage limits, insurance requirements, and all other terms, actively challenging any discrepancies before driving the vehicle off the lot.
However, for the majority of Arizona visitors and residents seeking reliable, safe, and clean transportation, and particularly for those renting during the extreme heat of the Arizona summer where functional air conditioning is critical, or for those planning longer trips across the state, the overwhelming public feedback strongly advises against choosing Carzi. The widely reported issues with vehicle condition, lack of transparency regarding mileage terms, aggressive sales tactics for insurance, and post-rental surprise charges indicate that the initial low price is a significant risk that, for many, leads to a much more expensive and stressful experience than renting from a recognized company. As one customer concluded, saving money by using a recognized, albeit more expensive, company would ultimately be more cost-effective.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 11 star is too much for this disgusting company! From start to finish, this has been the most frustrating and unprofessional rental experiences I’ve ever had.To begin with, the car was in atrocious condition. The interior was filthy, and the smell was unbearable, to the point of making us sick. It’s beyond disappointing that a rental company would send out a car in such a poor state without any acknowledgment or apology. On top of that, three tires were low on pressure, clearly indicating that basic maintenance had been neglected. The documentation process was equally disorganized. Despite the initial booking stating "unlimited mileage," once the car was rented, this condition suddenly changed without any clear explanation. The discrepancies were not addressed, and the company made no effort to honor the terms originally presented. To make matters worse, I uploaded proof of insurance and liability coverage prior to traveling to Phoenix, as it was a required step before finalizing the booking, per the instructions. However, upon arrival at the airport, Carzi somehow claimed they didn’t have it on file and demanded that I purchase their questionable daily liability coverage. It was clear that this was just a ploy to push additional charges, a common tactic in the car rental industry that I can only describe as a scam.As if the condition of the car and the shady insurance practices weren't bad enough, after returning the vehicle, I was shocked to find that Carzi had deducted nearly $300 from my account for "excess mileage." This fee came despite the misleading "unlimited mileage" claim made during the booking process. I had to fight to get any acknowledgment of the issues, and they completely ignored my documented evidence—photos and videos—proving the car’s condition.I now realize that I made the mistake of booking without properly researching the company. I am not the only one who has faced these issues, as there are numerous complaints online about similar experiences with Carzi. I should have taken the time to read the reviews before booking, rather than being enticed by the cheap price. Had I done so, I would have realized that the price was misleading, and renting from a recognized company would have been more cost-effective in the long run.The entire experience left me feeling abused and taken advantage of. I rented the cheapest car for four days with the expectation of paying under $100, yet I was charged almost $500 for a car that was in unsatisfactory condition and a customer service experience that was nothing short of a joke.In conclusion, I would strongly advise anyone considering Carzi to look elsewhere. Their lack of transparency, poor vehicle maintenance, and unscrupulous practices make them a company to avoid at all costs. This was, without a doubt, the worst rental experience I’ve ever had!!!
June 02 · Luzmar FernandesIf I could give this business less than 1 star I would. The car we had was 2005 Honda (not what we paid for). The seats had covers because there were so many stains on the seat. One of the back tire covers were falling off. It was 115 degrees and the car didn’t have air conditioning that could handle that heat. The customer service was some of the worst I ever had. Please save yourself and use a different company
June 20 · Maria BahlenhorstDon't do it! Priceline booked a car for us with a package vacation. The booking said unlimited miles. Communication from Carzi/Economy was good at the beginning although the rental agreement stated that they don't offer unlimited miles (only 100 miles per day). Red Flag!!!!! Carzi/Economy sent information on the process to get the car, but did not send information about the exact car that we would be assigned. We landed in Phoenix and still had not been assigned a car. We got our baggage from baggage claim and were ready to leave the airport and still had not been assigned a car, so we called Priceline to figure out what we were going to do. We decided to book a car with Avis instead. On the way to pick up our car from Avis, Carzi/Economy finally sent information on a car we were assigned. At this point, it was way too late. Carzi/Economy left us stranded at the airport and we had to book through Avis. I am now working with Priceline for a refund for the cost of the Carzi/Economy rental. Carzi/Economy is a clown show. Again....don't do it! I will update this review when I receive a refund. ****UPDATE - Priceline did refund****
October 09 · Eric GladwishTerrible. Rented through Expedia. Economy Car Rental. They do not accept Canadian insurance and said I had to buy their insurance, which more than doubled my bill!! If I declined, they threaten to charge me the full amount as a no show! They only text…no people to speak with. Two hours on the phone with Expedia resulted in sympathy and a promise to email the rental car company, who would get back to me in three business days!! I was effectively held hostage. The car had aweful stained rear seats. Never again!!
September 05 · philip garlickIt takes alott for me to go alour of my way and give a business a negative review. But this place is joke. Not only they don't have value the customer they don't have a actual person to help you out in customer service. They have a freaking chat. Which they don't answer accordingly. They laughed at your question or concern and sit answer text for any questions or concerns. Like who does that. But their very quickly to take your money and harass you with deposit concern in their behalf. I suggest you stick to the big boys hertz a enterprise for a better experience because this so call car rental company is a joke. Save yourself headaches and go elsewhere.
