Budget Car Rental Introduce
Welcome to the overview of the Budget Car Rental location situated in Louisville, Kentucky. As a globally recognized provider of vehicle rental services, Budget offers a variety of transport solutions for both residents of Kentucky and visitors traveling to the Louisville area. Whether you need an economy car for quick trips around the city, a spacious SUV for a family adventure through the Bluegrass State, or a van for moving or group travel, this local branch aims to meet a broad spectrum of transportation needs.
This specific location functions as both a dedicated car rental agency and a van rental agency, providing options for personal travel, business needs, and light commercial transportation. The goal is to provide reliable and cost-effective vehicles to keep your plans moving smoothly, though it is always recommended to book well in advance, especially for specialty vehicles like vans, to ensure availability for your required dates.
It is important for potential customers to set realistic expectations when dealing with high-volume rental locations, as evidenced by public customer feedback. Reviewers have pointed out issues with queue times, staffing levels, and vehicle condition at this and other Louisville area branches. While all businesses strive for excellence, and Budget is a major national brand, customers should be prepared for potential variability in service delivery and vehicle readiness, particularly during peak travel periods. Verifying your reservation and the vehicle type a day or two before pickup is a prudent step.

Choosing Budget Car Rental on Crittenden Drive in Louisville can be worthwhile for Kentucky users for several reasons, provided reservations are made with an understanding of the competitive rental market. The primary draw of Budget is its reputation for providing competitive pricing and a substantial, diverse fleet.
For value-conscious renters in the Louisville area, the range of vehicles, from economical compact models to full-size SUVs and vans, ensures there is an option suitable for almost any budget or travel requirement. The proximity to the airport, coupled with the benefit of being slightly removed from the central airport terminal congestion, can offer a quick alternative for both local residents and arriving travelers. Being located near major highways like I-264 allows for a rapid start to your journey, whether you are heading north toward downtown Louisville, south toward Elizabethtown, or east on a longer road trip across the state or region.
Furthermore, the highlighted active military discounts represent a tangible benefit for members of the armed forces and their families in Kentucky, providing a genuine saving opportunity. The accepted payment methods, including NFC mobile payments, cater to modern transactional preferences. The option for one-way rentals is highly valuable for those undertaking non-circular journeys, such as moving to a new city or starting a long road trip without planning to return to Louisville.
However, potential customers must be realistic about the service experience, especially during high-demand times, as noted in public reviews regarding wait times and personnel availability. By booking online for the most favorable rates, utilizing the Fastbreak program (if functional), and calling ahead to confirm vehicle status and location hours, you can maximize the potential for a smooth rental experience. Ultimately, the extensive selection of vehicles and the strategic location make this Budget branch a key component of the Louisville region’s overall transportation infrastructure.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This was, without question, the most frustrating and poorly managed car rental experience I’ve ever had. There was only ONE employee working — yes, just one — to handle the entire line of customers. The other counters sat empty like abandoned museum exhibits. It was chaos. People stood in line for what felt like forever, watching helplessly as nothing moved. Fastbreak? Total joke. There was no Fastbreak service at all — just a sign that might as well say “Good luck.”The one employee who was there looked overwhelmed, frustrated, and in no position to help anyone properly. Honestly, it felt cruel — for both the customers and the staff member.Budget clearly doesn’t respect people’s time or money. If you’re flying into Louisville and thinking of renting from Budget: DON’T. JUST. DON’T. You’ll regret every second of it.You’re better off walking, taking a taxi, or renting from literally any other company.
June 07 · D.kIf 0 stars were an option, that's what is deserved here. We reserved a 12 ft moving truck to drive 5 hours from Louisville to Chicago. The first truck they gave us was an unsafe truck with bald tires, disgusting trash in the filthy front cab and trash in the cargo area. When starting the truck, low oil pressure and change oil soon lights showed on the dashboard. When I went back inside to complain about the truck, they gave immediately had a second truck ready, as if they knew I would refuse it. They even claimed it was serviced the day before! Then, the second truck had transmission problems as we got to the Chicago area and couldn't go more than 25mph. Avoid this place.
July 29 · joseph canzonieriThis is the best place I have found to rent a car. Everyone that I have dealt with has been very courteous and professional. I rent a couple times a year and have had no issues, especially when I was three days late in returning a car, last month when I had the wrong date on my calendar. The employee just said she would have to charge me for those days and that was it.I truly believe that everyone can have a bad day, so I always go in with the attitude that I expect to get from them no matter where it is.I have my attitude but when I go in a place I leave it in my car. But if I feel like it's going to come out I just leave without making a seen.
August 21 · Petronilla ChildersThe rental process was extremely easy, and the vehicle was very affordable. I only had 3 issues. One being that they hold a $200 deposit on your card above the rental cost even when using a credit card. Two, I didn’t like that they didn’t look over the car with me. Bring married to a man who did detail for several years, he noticed scratches, missing hub cap centers, and the difference in paint making it obvious the car had been previously wrecked. I was fine as long as I wasn’t being charged for it which I wasn’t. The car still ran great! The third issue was the odometer reading. The paperwork shows it had only 270 miles. When I got in the car, it had over 2,000 miles on it. We only drove the car from Louisville Kentucky to Gatlinburg Tennessee and back for one weekend. We did not put over 3,000 miles on the car. Again, as long as I’m not being charged for the extra miles, I’m fine. I would suggest that when you rent a car, you go over every fine detail with the company to make sure because had I not opted for unlimited miles, I would have been very upset. I do appreciate the ease of the rental process, the affordable price, and the car running as smoothly as it did.
March 20 · Mary DennisonNot just the worse rental experience, but the worst customer service experience I've ever had.We reserved a moving van weeks prior. We drove in from Central Ohio and called to confirm they were ready. We were told they didn't have the van, but did have a short truck. However upon arrival we were told they had no one way vehicles available and to call customer service to see if they could locate us a different one. Keep in mind, there were plenty in the parking lot but we were told those were in town only and not one way vehicles. They made no attempt to find one, and acted as if it was not their problem. When I asked "what are reservations even for" the employee stared at me blankly and told me I'd have to call customer service. We left and were able to find a truck at a U-Haul location. The cherry on top is that after not providing us with a vehicle these fraudsters had the nerve to charge the card on file with the reservation. I'm unconvinced this is a legitimate business, and wouldn't be surprised to hear that most of their money is coming in through fraudulent charges.
