August 13 · Peps TorresTerrible and creepy. Booked a car using my airline’s rewards and didn’t know I’d be dealing with CarTrawler as their third party broker. They booked my car with an agency that overcharged me by $503 without justification and won’t respond to my calls and emails. The rental was supposed to be covered by my airline rewards and CarTrawler provided a “confirmation” stating that. In the two months I’ve tried to resolve this, CarTrawler keeps changing their story. First they accused me of damaging the car but redacted that when I proved I didn’t. Next they disclaimed responsibility for their rental agency’s billing. When I contacted my airline about the issue, CarTrawler promised to resolve it but ghosted me. Their “customer care” is an AI-assisted chat that uses algorithms to minimize interaction with human representatives. They won’t disclose their corporate address for “security reasons” and are listed as a software company in Ireland. Disingenuous.
July 09 · R ZDO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION WITH UBER. They are partnered with Cartrawler. It took me 4 days to find a working phone number for Cartrawler and have them issue a refund. I had to pressure the person I was speaking to for a refund, and also contacted my credit card company to flag the charge and start a dispute. All of this could have been avoided if I would’ve booked directly with car rental company. Uber has no customer service phone number at all, and Cartrawler found their phone number through google maps. DO NOT MAKE THE DAME MISTAKE.
