I initially requested a standard SUV (Ford Edge or similar) but got a Jeep compass which is generally considered a compact SUV. The enterprise agent who was helping me was kind enough to offer alternatives after I expressed my concerns and he (plus his partner) were very helpful. I believe transparent categorization of all available vehicles would greatly help customers choose the right vehicle for their needs on the first try. I lost a whole day of preparation because I needed to switch the vehicle.

Looking back on how perfect the trip went, it makes sense it started with Jake.Enterprise should cherish and enjoy Jake while he’s there. He was genuinely kind in ways he didn’t have to be. Witty and quick on his feet. That’s when I noticed an additional unauthorized charge on my credit card, with no email or phone call explaining why. I had to take time out of my day to go to the physical office to find out what happened.At the counter, I was told I was charged for an extra hour. However, my rental was for only 48 hours, and I actually dropped the car off 15 minutes before the scheduled return time. There are security cameras on the property, and I also have photo evidence of when I dropped it off. Thankfully, they reversed the charge and provided me with a digital receipt. But when I reviewed the receipt, I saw they recorded my return time as 7:59 a.m., when I actually dropped the car off at 6:45 a.m.This is a warning: Enterprise employees seem to be encouraged—if not pressured—by higher-ups to sneak extra charges onto customers’ bills to boost revenue. It’s unethical, and if I hadn’t caught the charge, they would’ve gotten away with it. They intentionally recorded a later drop-off time to justify the extra fee. If they had checked the security cameras or my key drop-off time, they would’ve seen the truth.I confronted the desk worker and the manager on duty about this unethical practice. First, they tried blaming the airport where I picked up the car. Then they blamed the holiday. After that, they claimed that normally they call customers to confirm the drop-off time, but since I rented from an airport, they didn’t do that. It was all nonsense.These employees will try to catch you on fees whenever they can, likely to boost their performance metrics or chances for promotion. Stay vigilant the next time you rent from them.
