★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I called Enterprise and spoke to the manager. I reserved a full size SUV and explained to him that I had to pick up 4 people with luggage from the airport. He assured me that there would be a Tahoe or at least something very comparable and full size the day of. I called again two days later and reiterated the importance of having a full size SUV available. He promised me that there would be one and that there would be no issues. He stated that the only possible issue would be that it might be a different model but would still be a full size. I received the email for registration that also confirmed my full size rental . I received a phone call 2 hours before I was due to pick it up and leave for the airport. The employee stated that there was no vehicle for me because they gave walk-ins priority of reservations. They offered me a small SUV and told me that it is what it is. I went there to check out the vehicle (which I couldn't take due to the size) and all anyone could say was "I don't know what to tell you" One guy stated that he was only part time so he didn't know what to tell me...There was a full size in the lot that they would not give me because it was....(reserved). My reservation didn't take priority over a walk-in but the other person's reservation took priority over mine.The manager never said this was a possibility but made several promises that I would not have a problem.Needless to say, I had no rental car to take to the airport despite the reservation that I made and the promises that I received.I will never go back there!
July 12 · Jay HarryMy son and I initiated our reservation for 2, full size, 7 passenger vehicles online in January 2025. Our large family was making a yearly summer trip down to lower South Carolina, for my son’s wedding this time. His fiancé DIY almost every item needed for this wedding to be transported to the location . From flowers, a large sign and stand, table centerpieces, glassware……. and the list goes on and on…….So needed the LARGE vehicles for not only many people but also LOTS of luggage. We both placed calls the beginning of the week to confirm the reservations and were reassured would be all set. We rent vehicles every year for this trip, usually thru the Waterbury branch….. reserve early, call week before for final reminder and confirmation. So my husband and son head there the Friday early afternoon to retrieve the vehicles and were told by a very RUDE associate ‘I don’t care if you had a reservation, we have NOTHING for you’. NOTHING!!! My poor son! My heart sunk, just hearing the situation. Am told the associate then turned and proceeded to go sit down. Very rude. The manager was then called out who was not as rude but did absolutely NOTHING to help rectify the problem! No one would even pick up a phone to call the other branches to check inventory! We were on our own! I just dont understand! If the public is unable to reserve vehicles then DONT offer it! Take it off your site! Run as a first come first serve business! Maybe that makes you more money. But for other people like me that needs to reserve ahead, does not work. Unbelievable business ethics! And HORRIBLE customer service!. My daughter was able to get a minivan which did help the situation some but it was definitely not cleaned from the prior renter. So in the end we went to the Waterbury branch where an associate named Macdonald was able to accommodate us with workable vehicles to make this very memorable trip! Will be sure to reach out to our friend Macdonald in Waterbury again for next years trip! Hope Watertown can work on fixing their issues.
August 06 · Kristen SmudinI rented last week and told them when I ordered to have a small car with a full tank of gas and the time to meet me, they called me three minutes after they were supposed to pick me up no I’m sorry not there yet showed up 35 min. Later no I’m sorry plus oversized vehicle which when they called late I made sure to tell them don’t forget small car plus full tank of gas did not get that. I went back to their place demanded the small car and got one no full tank plus dirty., had scratches on it etc, when I returned call I did give the next person almost full tank when mine was half. They never thanked me or ever said sorry for the bad service I had someone pick me up after returning car because they had told me they don’t have people to get me plus did not want to wait 40 min. Even if they were going to get me. Bad manners and not being honest when you order a car they try and give a more expensive one plus not a full tank they don’t give you money back for spending your money when more gas is left for the next person so they should always fill the tank you should not have to stop for gas right away.
