They announce, that its a 500 dollar deposit if I want to use my business debit so I use my credit, card, remember the car was pd in advance. Then they insist I get an upgrade because they are out of the there choice vehicle. I spend an additional 120. On a already 777 rental. When I get back a day early, only because they announce they close from midnight to 6am, so there is no shuttle to take us to the airport, they say there are no refunds for returning a day and almost half early. There 1 restroom is filthy and I watched 2 rats run across the front. I would never rent from them ever at any location. I normally rent from budget but the giants were playing post season so there vehicles were gone.
October 12 · Jennifer LaneI haven't even picked up the car yet but I've waiting in line for 30 minutes. Two employees, packed office and everything moving at a snails pace. They definitely need to expedite the process or hire more employees. I noticed that management responded to my review and stated delays are caused by customers that don't have their documentation ready. Would it not make sense to have a clearly written sign or someone pre-screen customers for INSURANCE DOCUMENTS and other necessary items. The delays stemmed from people using their own insurance for coverage but don't not have a copy of their coverage on hand or easily displayed on their app. Each person wasted up to 20 minutes at the counter fumbling for insurance or looking to login to their insurance carrier. Tell the people in advance by having an active pre-screening process!!!! On a positive note the gentleman at the counter was pleasant.

August 04 · Sammi SequoyahI have rented from Ace on numerous occasions and while I find the price of the cars is generally better than at most other car rental companies, their check in process is the most aggravating I've ever encountered. Each time I hope it will get better but it does not. I recently rented in Denver as well and found it to be the same experience. To add to the aggravation, one of the only reasons I choose Ace is because I found early on that I could walk to the facility thus saving my reliance on their woefully slow and inadequate shuttle service. Most other companies shuttle you from LGA to the off-site location somewhere out by Rikers Island, but they try and make up for this by having multiple busses constantly looping around. Ace does not do this. On this occasion, my wife and I, following instructions printed on my downloaded reservation, waited for the shuttle for 45 minutes until I finally called them to pick us up. We, along with the other dozen or so people waiting equally as long, we're finally picked up and brought to the facility where the check in nightmare was in full swing. The insurance game that it seems only Ace has in place is maddening! I wonder if the extra money that they extract from you is worth all the bad reviews. I don't think I'll rent from Ace ever again. This experience sealed the deal. Please Beware!!

Finally a shuttle pulls up and this is what occurs. My child and I are still waiting.2nd van at 5pm beyond disgusted, neither the driver or the passangers had the courtesy to offer for my toddler and I to board. This 2nd driver proceeded to tell me I was a liar and they have been coming around multiple times.

They seemed to really care about the negative experience I had and wanted to make it right. I greatly appreciate their response and hope that they do make improvements.---------------------------------I like many, had my problems begin with the shuttle that never came. My wife and I waited for over an hour at terminal C only to not be picked up. We tried multiple numbers to get in touch with someone at the rental car facility but all of the numbers led to some national number that didn't even know I was in NYC. One thought I was in L.ASo we walked to the B terminal hoping we could somehow have better luck getting picked up, but that too was to no avail after 30 additional minutes of waiting. Keep in mind we saw EVERY OTHER companies shuttles multiple times throughout this.I finally had to WALK from terminal B to the rental car location, at night. When I finally made it there were only 2 workers moving at the a speed that would be considered too slow for even a snail. There were only 3 people ahead of me yet it took 45 minutes for them to be helped before it was my turn. Also, throughout my whole time there I never saw the shuttle appear or bring more people in once.After I finally was helped I was given a car that smelled badly of marijuana. Also come to find out, it had no cruise control for the 8 hour round trip weekend drive we were about to do.
