Enterprise Rent-A-Car Introduce
When you’re navigating the busy North Jersey area, especially around Union County, having reliable transportation is essential, whether you’re dealing with a vehicle repair, planning a family trip, or coordinating business logistics. The Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch located at 506 Morris Ave in Summit, NJ, stands as a well-known local resource for all these needs. As part of a globally recognized brand, this location combines the assurance of a large fleet and national support with the personalized service of a local neighborhood agency. Notably, this branch proudly identifies as a women-owned business, adding a unique, community-focused dimension to its operations.
The agency’s reputation is built on providing a wide range of rental solutions, from economy cars for short commutes to cargo vans for moving or business projects. They cater to a diverse clientele, from local residents and business travelers to members of the active military, who can benefit from special discounts. The ease of doing business, which includes a variety of accessible payment and pick-up options, aims to make the often stressful process of renting a car as smooth as possible for New Jersey users.
However, the experience at any rental location can vary, and prospective customers should be aware of the importance of checking their reserved vehicle upon pick-up. While many customers enjoy a seamless experience, one reported a significant issue with a vehicle that was not properly cleaned and had mechanical issues (broken AC, faint cigarette smell). This highlights the need for the branch to maintain its "customer diligence," especially regarding vehicle readiness and cleanliness. The customer's difficulty in resolving a post-pickup issue after the Summit location closed, leading to an age-related issue at the Newark Airport location, underscores the value of confirming the vehicle’s condition and understanding the after-hours support process before driving off the lot. Enterprise, as a major brand, typically has procedures to rectify such situations, and the expectation of a quick resolution, such as a vehicle swap, is standard for the company's commitment to customer service.
The Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch is situated at 506 Morris Ave, Summit, NJ 07901, USA. This prime location places it in the heart of Summit's bustling commercial area, making it an incredibly accessible choice for residents of Summit, Chatham, Millburn, Springfield, and other affluent communities in Union and Morris Counties. Morris Avenue itself is a major local thoroughfare, ensuring simple navigation to and from the rental office.
The Summit location offers several important accessibility features that enhance the customer experience:
- Wheelchair Accessible Entrance: Ensures that all customers, regardless of mobility challenges, can easily enter the office to complete paperwork and speak with staff.
- Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lot: Dedicated parking spots near the entrance facilitate a convenient experience for customers with accessibility needs, a thoughtful consideration for local users.
While specific daily operating hours are best confirmed by calling the branch directly, Enterprise neighborhood locations generally offer convenient hours to accommodate local schedules, including weekend availability. The strategic placement on Morris Ave also provides quick access to major New Jersey routes like I-78 and Route 24, essential for commuting across the state or heading to nearby Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
This Enterprise branch is a full-service car and van rental agency, providing comprehensive transportation options for both personal and commercial use.
- Diverse Vehicle Fleet: Offering a wide array of cars, including economy, compact, mid-size, and full-size vehicles, as well as SUVs and luxury models, to suit various travel needs across New Jersey.
- Van Rental Agency Services: Specialized in providing commercial and personal van rentals, such as cargo vans for moving, and passenger vans (like minivans) for group travel or larger families.
- Replacement Rentals: A core service for customers requiring a vehicle while their personal car is in the repair shop, often coordinating directly with insurance companies and local body shops.
- One-Way Rentals: Facilitating flexible travel by allowing customers to pick up a vehicle in Summit and drop it off at another Enterprise location across the country (subject to availability and fees).
- Local Pick-Up Service: Enterprise is famous for its "We'll Pick You Up" service, which, where available, helps local customers get to the rental office without needing a taxi or a ride from a friend. This service should be confirmed with the Summit branch.
Several distinct highlights make the Summit Enterprise location a standout choice for local New Jersey renters:
- Certified Women-Owned Business: Identifying as a women-owned enterprise, this branch demonstrates a commitment to diversity and community involvement, which may appeal to local customers who prefer to support diverse businesses.
- Active Military Discounts: Enterprise honors the service of active military members by offering specific discounts off base rental rates for both official and leisure travel, a valuable benefit for service personnel and their families in the region.
- Convenient Digital and Mobile Technology: The agency’s use of technology, as evidenced by a customer sharing a tech tip for fixing a Carplay connection, suggests a staff familiar with and helpful in resolving modern vehicle technology issues, which is increasingly important to today's renters.
- Flexible Payment Options: The branch accepts Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and NFC mobile payments, providing customers with maximum flexibility in payment methods. Note: Using a debit card for a rental may involve additional requirements, such as a credit check or proof of round-trip travel, which should be verified with the branch prior to booking.
- High Accessibility Standards: The presence of a wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot ensures the service is readily available to a broader segment of the community.
For current vehicle availability, specific rental policies (including young renter fees and debit card requirements), or to inquire about the military discount program, please contact the Summit location directly.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Got a ride home last week. This week Diego took the time to find the problem with Carplay on the Hyundai Kona by demonstrating his phone worked. The fix for the iPhone with the latest version iOS is:—Settings—Screen time—Content & Privacy Options—Allowed Apps and features—Be sure CarPlay is turned on(I must have turned it off 3 years ago when my Girlfriend and Sister yelled at me that if I plugged in my iPhone to charge it, it would “screw” things up!) 😉
September 30 · W HowellFirst experience with Enterprise in summit was great. Went back to them a second time and I was handed this vehicle that was clearly not cleaned nor detailed. As well as the AC is broken on the vehicle it is cutting in and out and when it is on and does decide to work it is letting the smell off. As well as the car has a faint smell of cigarettes. Went out of my way to pick this vehicle up on my lunch break. I even called them at 8 AM this morning to confirm that they had a vehicle for me. Then at 11 I confirmed with them and let them know that I was going to be there by 1:30 PM. From Enterprise to my job in Union I noticed the AC issue I called enterprise right away they didn’t really give me much help customer service number. Call when I got out of work at that point it was already too late they have summit location had closed. Called the one 800 number again they told me no problem go to Newark airport and we can swap. I go to Newark airport they told me that they cannot serve me due to my age. Even right after I spoke to enterprise and have an enterprise rental. This is beyond disappointing and ridiculous and now I am stuck with a car that was not clean and now I can get risk of obtaining Covid just from a car not being clean & got told to drive drive to another location and not be served. All because this location did not do their customer diligence and do what they were supposed to. Enterprise needs to do something I’m expecting a new car to be delivered to me at my job tomorrow. I am beyond disappointed and furious.
April 03 · Ash DSuper efficient experience renting thru Enterprise while my car was in the shop. Love that they will pick you up if pickup location is local, if you need a ride to rental location.Friendly professional staff.
July 29 · Sondra E.I had an urgent need for a rental after a car accident and turned to Enterprise Summit. Big mistake. I rented an Audi A3 that had a red coolant warning light on the dash from day one. I asked to switch vehicles twice — even offered to pay more — but the staff was totally indifferent and unprofessional. No concern for safety, no willingness to help. I live in the area and, based on repeated experiences, I believe I was treated differently due to colorism. Poor customer service and discriminatory behavior — I will never use this location again.
July 26 · L BI have rented from summit enterprise on numerous occasions despite their unorganized and at times unprofessional ways. This past weekend was it for me. I will rent elsewhere going forward. I rented a vehicle 5pm on a Friday with a return date of the next day at noon. Needless to say life happens and I attempted to call at 12:10pm Saturday advising them of my late return of the vehicle but the office was closed. Still returned vehicle over the weekend with a full tank of gas although I received it under full when I got it. Parked the car dropped the keys in the drop box and that was that. The next business day I discovered I was charged Friday-Monday although I didn’t have the vehicle. I am a full time manager myself so I spoke to their so called manager Matt who doesn’t know the first thing about proper managerial skills. Tone was poor, he lacked empathy, attitude was poor, and honestly he couldn’t care less about anything I was saying. He was totally ok with getting over charging me for a vehicle he knew I didn’t have. So I will be getting less of my $300 deposit back. To add further insult to injury he stated I rented from them a few times I should know!! Should know what exactly ??!! That you would rip me off?? That you would see your vehicle returned over the weekend and you would charge me as if it wasn’t ?? What a joke of a bunch of kids working at this location. Matt the manager proceeds with saying oh well you should have kept the vehicle until Monday. No shit I would if I knew you guys would rip me off for a vehicle I dropped off. I will be escalating this complaint through enterprise and better business bureau and will file a dispute with my bank. Totally unacceptable.
