We didn't rent here--which makes my review all the more meaningful, I think!--but when we landed at ORH, we realized we had taken the key on the plane with us fro the Hertz rental we'd just returned...to Orlando. We don't live anywhere near either airport (ORH or MCO), and Hertz had already revised our receipt (during the flight!) to charge us $300 for key replacement.I spoke with Dimitri (the manager on duty), who suggested I reach out to Ed Bresnahan, the owner. Mr. Bresnahan replied to me within one day and graciously agreed to return the key for me to the folks in Orlando. I was expecting pushback--or even a request to pay some sort of shipping or handling fee, as this is a franchise Hertz location (meaning, not a corporate location), so his quick response--and willingness to help--were a pleasant and welcome surprise.
July 28 · Katherine DePasqualeMade a last minute reservation a for a car bc my power steering quit. I got there after hours and desk was closed. With the help of a kind airport employee (who had no doubt been busting her butt all day in the snow storm)was able to get in touch with an employee through the hotline. I am grateful and impressed that despite falling snow and icy roads, he was willing to come back!!! Not often these days that you come across strangers willing to go out of there way to help someone else 💚
January 17 · Michelle SheaWhen I picked up my rental, I was greeted with a smile by the lady at the counter and everything was ready to go. I was out the door in a matter of minutes and on my way. The car was a brand new Challenger R/T.When I returned the car however, it wasn't as smooth a process. Be aware that there is only one employee working on Sunday morning so the wait time at the counter for return could be a lot longer than normal. I waited for 20 minutes before the employee arrived, and there were two customers behind me waiting as well. However once he did arrive, he was very friendly and processed my return quickly.I would have given a 5 star review had this location's hours been better (closed Saturday, only open Sunday morning) and at least a 2nd employee to avoid an empty counter while people wait and wonder if someone is even going to show up.
April 16 · Ultimate157I reserved a Pickup truck from this location, which included a $150.00/ 24 hour cancellation fee. I was called the day before the rental and told that they did not have a truck for me and asked if I could rent something else. I mentioned that I was moving someone, so I needed the truck, and the gentleman said he would get back to me, which he did not. I assumed that everything was ok at that point, as I had secured the reservation.The website for that location had hours posted from 8-2pm on Saturday as of the day I secured the rental (May 14). I flew into Boston from California on the red eye, and it took a while to get transportation to the airport in Worchester, so I missed the 11:00am pickup time on the contract. I was there at 1:20pm, and as a Hertz Gold member, I have never had trouble picking up a car 2 hours after the time on the contract when my travel plans have been delayed, so I did not think I needed to call.When I got to the Hertz rental desk at the airport (1:25pm), the desk was closed. At that time, there was another customer there trying to return a car who was also quite frustrated. He had come to this Hertz location because of the hours posted on the website as well, and wanted to turn in his car. I called Hertz to file a compliant, and I was told that my reservation had been cancelled because I did not pick up the car by 12:00pm. In addition, I had been assessed the $150.00 cancellation fee. I see now that the closing time posted on the website has been changed from 2pm to 12:00noon for Saturday and Sunday. This has changed since 5/14. I was not told of the change by the Hertz representative when I was called about the reservation the day before.The representative I spoke with by phone (around 2 pm after an on hold wait time of 12 minutes) was very polite and she filed a petition for me to waive the cancellation fee due to the circumstances. I hope that Hertz does not choose to charge me the $150.00, which if so, I will strongly contest. I had to go elsewhere to find a car. I was never able to find a truck.
May 21 · laura beckerWorst hertz rental location I have ever dealt with. Booked a car on the hertz app got to the location and I was told my reset could not be found in their system. I should the rep my reservation on the app but but he kept on insisting it was not in their system. Ended up canceling my app reservation and paying more for direct booking at the counter what makes the matters worse is that the rep booked me on Thrifty instead of hertz so I was unable to gain my rewards. Reps are rude and lack customer service skills.
