Not to mention the lines are insanely long and slow, no matter the time of day. Even for Preferred customers.Just…skip Avis. Go to any of the others.(photo taken from Enterprise desk - no line. Shortly after arriving at our destination in Falmouth, the oil change warning light appeared on the dashboard.The next day, we contacted customer service and were informed that we could not drive to Montreal as planned for safety reasons. We were advised to visit the nearest Avis station to swap the vehicle. However, upon arrival, we were told that no replacement cars were available. We were instructed to call again the next day to check for availability.The following morning, we contacted the station once more and went there again, only to find that most of the cars available were either too small or in poor condition, as there were apparently no mechanics available to service them. Despite spending much of our holiday trying to resolve this issue, we were told yet again to call the next day.When we did, the first representative could not help us, so we had to call again. This time, we were informed that there was no guarantee we could exchange the car at the airport or receive a vehicle of the same size, and that no reservation could be made. Finally, after contacting assistance once more, we were told that we could have the oil changed at a mechanic and later submit the bill for reimbursement.In total, we spent three days of our holiday dealing with issues that should have been handled efficiently by the rental company. The lack of organization and professionalism we experienced was extremely disappointing and far below the standards one would expect from Avis.Given the significant inconvenience, loss of time, and stress caused during our vacation, we will request appropriate financial compensation for the circumstances and the lack of professionalism we encountered.
October 17 · Morena MarinaroI was worried about the rental experience given all the recent uk publicity of tricks and deceptive policies to get more money out of you or trick you into paying for damage but for me it was okay. They didn’t check over the car before or after though did pay for loss damage protection of that made any difference. Car wasn’t particularly clean but okay for us. I ordered a Rav 4 equivalent but got something bigger but there was a good selection and was offered a choice. Staff were fine and were not pushy and both collection and drop off was quick with limited queues for both late evening pickup and evening drop off.

However, someone took the car for a joyride through the Sumner Tunnel, resulting in a toll charge at 5:47 PM—well after I had returned the vehicle.When I contacted customer service to dispute the charge, the representative was extremely rude, repeatedly telling me to contact E-ZPass, despite the clear evidence of unauthorized use likely involving someone from Avis. She also refused to provide her name.This experience reflects very poorly on the company.
