Budget Car Rental Introduce
For residents and visitors in the Greater Cleveland area, including Lake and Geauga Counties, Budget Car Rental in Wickliffe, Ohio, stands as a notable option for all vehicle rental needs. As a well-established national brand, this agency is a dual-service provider, specializing in both standard car rentals and passenger van rentals. This combination makes it a versatile choice for Ohio locals planning anything from a weekend trip across the state to a large family outing or commercial transport within the Northeast Ohio region.
The convenience of a large, consistently managed fleet is a primary benefit for Ohio users, ensuring a diverse range of vehicles, from fuel-efficient economy cars perfect for the drive to Downtown Cleveland to spacious SUVs and minivans for trips to Cedar Point or the Hocking Hills. For those needing to transport larger groups, the van rental specialty is particularly valuable, offering solutions like 7-passenger minivans and larger 12-passenger vans.
It is important for customers to manage their expectations regarding the reservation process, as some local feedback suggests that a reservation, particularly for high-demand vehicle types like 6-passenger vehicles, may not always guarantee the specific vehicle class or availability if not carefully confirmed in advance. Furthermore, reports of difficulties reaching the location by phone and occasional rudeness from staff highlight the need for renters to be proactive. Utilizing online booking and check-in procedures is highly recommended to streamline the process, and customers should always double-check pickup and drop-off times to avoid confusion and late fees.
Despite these localized service challenges, the Wickliffe branch offers compelling value propositions, most notably through its participation in the national Active Military Discount program, providing significant savings for Ohio’s service members and their families.
The Budget Car Rental facility is strategically located on a main thoroughfare in Wickliffe, Ohio, providing easy access for drivers traveling throughout the northeastern part of the state. The location is ideal for residents of Wickliffe, Willoughby, Mentor, and the eastern suburbs of Cleveland.
The physical address is:

Its location offers straightforward access to Interstate 90 (I-90), a key artery for travel along the Lake Erie shore and connecting to other major Ohio cities like Erie, Pennsylvania, and Downtown Cleveland.
Accessibility features are a key highlight of this location:

- On-site Parking: Provides customers with convenient parking for their personal vehicle while renting.

- Payment Options: Conveniently accepting major Credit Cards and Debit Cards for reservation and payment.
- One-Way Rentals: The ability to rent a car at this location and drop it off at another Budget location (subject to availability and one-way fees), highly useful for cross-state or regional travel.

Ohio customers are encouraged to proactively confirm all booking details and deadlines directly with the office, as past feedback points to potential service challenges related to communication and vehicle availability. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If there were negative stars, that is what Budget would receive. How do you give even ONE star when you rent a vehicle to take 6 people to a concert and when you Uber there in the morning, the attendant tells you that there are no 6 passenger vehicles? He proceeded to tell me that a "reservation is not a reservation for an actual vehicle." It is apparently some sort of "wish" that may or may not be granted by Budget. Shouldn't someone have contacted me by 10:30AM on the day that I was getting the vehicle to tell me that there was no such vehicle so I did not have to Uber there for $10 to find that MY reserved vehicle did not exist and then Uber back for another $10? Never again. I went home and reserved a 6 passenger vehicle from Enterprise which had my vehicle.
September 15 · Thom TylerI don’t know why they have phones!!!! They never answer it! I needed to tell them I was gonna be running a little bit late and I called 20 times finally arrived here in the guy Wes Said he had people in line, but there was nobody in this place. I Thought I was supposed to pick it up at five, but I got a message saying it was due at four. So I was calling to let him know. I was running a couple minutes late and I tried to show on my phone and he didn’t wanna look at it. Is very rude. And other people came in here and I was so shocked what he said to these people and how he treated them.
July 21 · Joyce WorkmanAfter my experience with Wes at the Wickliffe location on Euclid Ave. I can see why the place has a 2 star review. I only put one star because Google does not allow me to to rate accurately which would be in the negatives.I had a reservation for pick up 8am. As myself and many other awaited until well after store opening hours, I heard the individuals around me waiting all saying the same thing. The guy is always late, never on time, and is very unprofessional. This guy is Wes. When he pulled in I witnessed it first hand.He told me that I could not pay my security deposit with a different card than what was used online for the reservation. He made me cancel my current reservation and then would not proceed to process another transaction as a walk in customer. He said "they don't do that there" and don't take walk in customers. I had to do it online, so I went outside, sat on the curb and then made another reservation.I asked Wes I noticed 15 cars were returned and why no inspections were made? He said he doesn't do that, it's not up to him, that's up to the customers and that he just charges ppl for any damages no question. After speaking to customer service they were very surprised to hear that I received this kind of service and confirmed that everything he told me was pretty much a lie. I made a complaint with customer service right then and there and am moving forward with an informal complaint as well just incase this gets swept under the rug.I will say this is partially our fault for not looking at the reviews first and solely price shopping. Looked at the wrong numbers!! I'm in the trades and anything with the term "budget" when it comes to services and materials is something you just want to stay away from. That's just the rule of thumb. Cheaper is not better especially today and my experience proves that! I apologize to enterprise because we are loyal customers and I don't know what I was thinking. Never had an issue with them and next month we will be back to share our story as to why we will stay with them. This process took over an hour and a half of just waiting and could of all been avoided. I don't know how this place is in business. It also ended up costing more in the end because by him making me cancel our reservation, the rates were then higher. I can't say it was intentional but I'm sure my story will paint a different picture of you just focus on Wes's actions. This location fits the inner city demographic and Wes is the epitome of "that's not my job". Very Erie and uncomfortable aura radiating from Wes. I felt like I was back in Iraq just sitting there in the lobby. I felt far more comfortable outside away from the guy.The pictures below are just 2 pictures of many and there were many other points to the story however I feel this review is already elongated. These scratches Wes did not want to record. Picture was taken before we left the lot. Also I don't drink Starbucks. These cars don't even get cleaned between customers, someone just looks at it and says "good nuf".
July 06 · Michael BooneIf I could give zero stars I would, 0/10 recommend this place.First off I've used this place twice, both times the cars have been dirty and smell like marijuana or smoke.Second the manager is as rude as they come and they don't pick up their phone.Third they refuse to fix their mistakes. The manager here incorrectly charged me for my reservation. I added the e-toll unlimited option to my reservation when I booked it and asked him about it when I picked up my car and again when I dropped it off. I asked him why I wasn't being charged for it - this was my immediate question when he gave me my receipt because I told him it was wrong and that the e-toll unlimited wasn't on there - and he told me Budget would add it after the fact. I then called budget because that seemed incorrect, turns out it is. This is directly from the budget website about e-toll unlimited: e-Toll Unlimited is purchased at the rental counter by adding the service to the rental agreement prior to leaving the rental lot. e-Toll Unlimited cannot be added to a rental agreement or activated after leaving the lot or upon vehicle return. So after talking to 4 different Budget employees they all informed me I needed to contact him to amend my reservation and add it back on. So after calling him EIGHT times he finally picked up and when I told him this he informed me there was nothing he could do and then told me he was going to hang up on me. I did not use profane language or raise my voice or anything that would typically constitute an employee rightfully hanging up on a customer. I now get to deal with Budget customer service AGAIN after being on the phone with them for close to two hours already to try and get this remedied because instead of paying $24.98 for my e-toll unlimited I'm looking at close to ~$150 in toll fees.DO NOT USE THIS PLACE.
February 10 · Brittany ApplebyRude when asked questions over the phone. I will never use budget rental again. Customer service is a joke and rude. Called corporate they don’t seemTo care how their employees speak to customers.
