He wouldn’t give me the car I had already paid for, but kept trying to upgrade me to gas guzzling full sized SUV. He was rude, using every car salesman tactic to add on cost. He wouldn’t let me speak to the manager. I asked for the employee’s name (they don’t wear name tags), and he said Justin, another employee told the angry customer next to me that his name was Justin. Then- when I asked for the manager’s name, the employee said the manager’s name was, JUSTIN! Every customer felt hustled that day. The car was dirty, not cleaned at all, I ended up cleaning it out myself. The guy at the check was also uncaring, unresponsive. Literally the worst experience I’ve ever had renting a car (and I’ve had bad ones. I will not be using Dollar again
August 03 · Skye PatrickWorst rental experience I have ever had. They had literally two employees working against a crowd of dozens of travelers. Eventually, a third employee came up. The "skip the line" thing is BS. Went down to the garage to check and was told that we had to get in line. Spent two entire hours in line and didn't even get a car. Checked with another company that had no line and they had cars available. Rented with Hertz (who actually owns Dollar Rental) and got a car within minutes. Don't know if it was because of the graduations happening that weekend, but Dollar was wholly unprepared for the volume of travelers needing cars. I checked later, after we finally made it somewhere to rest from the long day of traveling, and even hours later, the website told me my care was not ready. I paid a non-refundable deposit that I am trying to get back because this whole experience was ridiculous. These are pictures I took of the line as I walked away with my rental from a different desk.
May 07 · Tiffany WhatzitooyahBought tickets for 5 adults for the Boston airport online months ago ,The car rental for three days came as a deal with the tickets (close to $2,000 for tickets and rental )when we get to dollar car rental they try to put us 5 adults with 3 days worth of luggage in a CHEVY VOLT !!Then since my wife had the tickets in her name she was the only one allowed to drive the car unless we added another driver for $45!!!Insurance was $110 for the basic insuranceTo upgrade to a mid size SUV was $145!!!!!!So even though we bought tickets for 5 people and reserved a vehicle for us months ago they still forced us to " upgrade " by giving us the smallest car they have available when there was tons of even normal sized cars there that would've even worked .So three days costs us over $600 for a rental car alone .Then when we dropped the car off it said there was no people there ( workers just to park the car and leave the keys inside ) so we parked in an open spot by a few other cars and some mean worker raised his voice at us telling us to park the car across the lot by all the other cars ( so he didn't have to move it himself )So I do not recommend this car rental company .That explains why all the other car rental places had a long line when we got there and this line had 1-3 people in it .To add icing to the cake the seats had visible stains on them and the windows had fingerprints on them and the car was a tad bit funky when we got it .That's a lot of money to pay for a dirty car .

The person who assigned us the car, didn't give the key or place the key tag in the car. We went out of the gate and discovered it. Put the car and family at risk and ran to get the tag from the manager. It could have been worse2. They didn't charge our EV at all and had only 50% charge. The default configuration is set to the worst possible scenario. Head light was off and not on auto. AC was set to max and will drain the battery. Charge the car to 90%. Reset to factory settings at the beginning of each rental.Positives;We got a Polestar 2 car, which was great in spite the extra charging time. Superior to any gas car.
May 26 · Karthik Sankar (K Sankar)I do not usually give one star reviews but this place was a big exception. From the time we arrived at the counter, it took over two hours to get our rental car. An hour of that was in line waiting for the rental agreement because there was only one person trying to serve the twenty in front of me and more customers just kept filling in. Once I got the agreement, I had already paid through my reservation but had to put 575 dollar deposit down because I was using a debit card instead of a credit card. Then we get outside to pick the car up where it’s 38 degrees outside and we have our two little boys with us, and it takes another hour and half to get the car. It was one of the most horrible experiences ever and I will make sure to never use the dollar/thrifty brand again when traveling. I will say the car was phenomenal which is the only reason I am even okay with the one star.
