As a President Circle member at any other Hertz location I can just go pick a car within rental type & get in the car and go. This time I had to go inside to be interrogated about showing proof of insurance. Not just a policy type & number but the rep was swiping through to see full coverage. Never has that happened when renting a car anywhere. Asked to see my name on my credit card before paying the deposit. The app said vehicle would be a Tahoe or similar I was given a Hyundai Palisade. I mention this wasn’t expected she said they don’t have Tahoe’s at the location and it is similar. She I could upgrade and pay more for a Wagonee in a very dry tone. No thank you! Whoever runs the location please do better! My husband rented from this location a few months back and his experience was totally different. Not sure what happening or if it was just me. I will not rent here again.

So they did not bill my hertz gold account and instead sent something from “BadDebt” “GSP transportation” to my email and asked me to sign something and “emailIt back and to be sure I did everything in writing”. Look, I travel allThe time. I am a good traveler and a responsible traveler. It was incredibly insulting to be sent a debt collection notice 4 days after my return when I have a valid account with Hertz. I tried calling Hertz customer service and after waiting 35 minutes on hold they said they can’t help me as the location is a leasee location and their billing is independent. So while the car was clean and the location is convenient, I felt very insulted by the lack of customer service and also felt this was not a secure way to pay my bill when I have an account with Hertz. They had problems with their computer when I arrived, and maybe I wasn’t the only person that received something called “baddebt” in my email, but for someone who constantly is sure that my accounts are up to date and considering what year this is, I should not have to fill out a hand written credit card info page and email it in. I will likely never rent from here again. All they had to do was call me, even the same day I returned it, or when I brought the keys to the counter and if they were having issues we could have handled it there. I’m sad that this was not a good experience.
October 09 · CN AngelI use rental cars frequently for work and this was my worst rental car experience. The first car I was given smelled of cigarette smoke. It was giving me a headache so I had to turn around and go back to replace it. The person at the desk seemed annoyed with me but got me a new car. The second car had problems with the AC. When I went back in to get a third car after trying to get on the road for over an hour, they acted like it was my fault and were extremely put out. The third car had trash in it but I didn't bother going back to the counter. I've never been treated so badly at a rental car company and will not use Hertz again if I have any other options. It was really frustrating to be treated that way after a very long travel day. The issues with the cars aren't even my biggest complaint. My complaint is that they acted like I was the problem when I was actually being pretty patient under the circumstances.

I have had very good luck with car selection over numerous rentals (Dodge Charger, Dodge pick up, twice Jeep Wrangler Rubicons) and the people at the counter are always super friendly.Return is not the best if you want to walk away with receipt in hand. But they are fine if you leave the car in a designated return spot, pop in to the “office”, leave keys on the counter and walk away. And that works just fine for me. I don’t want to have to sit around waiting for someone to manually process the return.
