I was upset because I couldn’t understand why I was allowed to book a reservation if there were no cars at the time. I called several other locations—some didn’t answer, and others didn’t have any cars either.Thankfully, Hertz Kennesaw was completely different. When I called, Jacob answered and assured me they had cars available for the Manager’s Special. He was calm, professional, and put me at ease after such a stressful start to my day.Even though I had to drive from Buckhead to Kennesaw, it was absolutely worth it. The location is clean, welcoming, and the staff is outstanding.Jacob McKee, the Branch Manager, truly impressed me. While I was there, I watched him handle a very difficult and rude customer with patience, kindness, and professionalism. On top of that, I had an amazing conversation with Jacob and Nakisha—it honestly felt like we had known each other for years.Nakisha Jordan, the rental representative, is an absolute gem. She greeted everyone warmly, kept us updated during the busy rush, and made sure each customer felt acknowledged. When I sat at her desk, it felt like I was talking to my sister—she’s so down-to-earth and extremely knowledgeable about Hertz policies.John, the Area Manager, also went above and beyond. He walked me through the available cars, educated me about the electric vehicles (I didn’t even know there were so many!), and gave me great tips about other locations that typically have cars.Even though my experience started out rough, Hertz Kennesaw completely turned it around. This is hands down one of the best Hertz locations I’ve ever visited. The staff and managers are well-trained, professional, and genuinely care about their customers. August 05 · Shana SmithReserved a minivan for a trip several weeks in advance. Needed the room for people plus luggage. My original reservation was for 5 days with pickup at noon. The day of the pickup I called ahead letting them know I was working and would be there around 4. I didn’t want them to charge me a no-show fee and/or give my reservation away. The staff assured me I would be fine. When I showed up I noticed several minivans on the lot that appeared to be in good shape. Everything seemed promising up until this point. Upon checking in I was told the minivans were returned damaged and were out of service. I said I understand, but asked what they could substitute. The employee mentioned the only comparable vehicles were a Durango with a third row(very tight seating and very little cargo space), and an Expedition. The employee offered no assistance, instead told me I was welcome to look at one. The Expedition was a bit tight on cargo space but I figured I could stuff everything in. I mentioned I would accept the expedition as a substitute. They told me I could have it with an additional amount as an “upgrade”. I disagree with having to pay additional costs as my original reservation was unable to be fulfilled. At one point they blamed me for arriving late. I mentioned I had called earlier to make them aware of that. The employee and manager had no recollection of the conversation. I conceded and paid the additional cost of nearly $100, as they gave me no other choice. The clerk said he would sanitize the car and get it ready(I had noticed a bit of trash in the vehicle when looking at it earlier). He came back in rather quickly and said the vehicle was ready outside with key and rental agreement. I hopped in and found the key and rental agreement along with trash and food crumbs. At this point I was running late for some other engagements and was over dealing with the poor customer service so I decided just to finish cleaning it myself later. Unfortunately this was not the end of my poor experience. Three days into my rental I got a rental receipt emailed to me with “my” vehicle being returned on empty and an additional fuel charge for 17 gallons at $11/gallon. I was charged for the full week and nearly $200 for fuel on a vehicle that was still in my possession. Upon closer inspection I noticed the employee put the wrong vehicle number on the rental agreement. I called the customer service line. They noted the discrepancies but mentioned I would have to call back 48 hours after returning the vehicle, to clear up any remaining issues. At this point it is Sunday and the location is closed so I am unable to clear up their mistake before work tomorrow. I was planning on doing an after hours drop off return . Now I have to take additional time off work to clear up the mistakes in person to ensure they correct the rental agreement and initiate a refund of the fuel charge.
July 28 · DThis location has went downhill. They never have the car class you selected and prepaid for and the customer service is horrible. The cars in the lot always need service and can’t be rented. This was by far the worst experience. I prepaid for an SUV to move my daughter back to college and I get an Altima. Jacob couldn’t refund me in house and gave me a number to call. He was unapologetic and wasn’t concerned at all about this unfortunate situation. Another employee attempted to find a vehicle at a near by location, this was something Jacob should have offered. I have been waiting on my refund since August 15th. This once was my go to but they definitely lost a customer. Do better!
September 17 · TJ FordThis location is understaffed and rarely has the vehicle I reserve available when I go to pick it up. The people are nice (when they're there), but it's woefully understaffed with incredibly poor vehicle selection on site. I'm a Hertz Gold member and have been for a long time, but it may finally be time to consider other rental options.
August 04 · Ron DavisI am a Hertz Five Star member and rented from this location from May 28 to May 30 picking up and dropping off at the same time (0903 - 2 day rental).Getting the car was an issue as I waited 35 minutes in total on the reps working and to have the car brought up because it needed to be sanitized and didn’t get any updates until I inquired.Upon return at the designated time (0930) I left my keys with the only person working after a 10 minute wait and was then charged on my final bill for an extra hour because the car wasn’t logged in on time.Tried calling to straighten it out and get credit for the over charge, but their office system puts you into a loop and hangs up on you.I strongly recommend you go across the street to Enterprise and avoid this Hertz location.
