DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! And please keep in mind this was my first ever truck rental, but I now know things to check and do from this experience.I rented a 16ft budget truck from this location to move to Florida. Upon getting there I was asked to inspect the outside of the vehicle. The front right tire was completely bald on the inside. I addressed this with them and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I asked multiple times if it would make it for Florida. They said there would be no problem. I was on a tight schedule to move for a job and didn’t have many options. Upon entering the truck, the gas tank wasn’t full, but they require a full tank on return.Then I started driving it. The steering wheel was at a 45 degree angle and was shaking my entire arms. I was told to call roadside service if anything happened. I had to fight to keep this on the road.I did not trust what budget employees said and checked the tire every hour. 5 hours into the drive my tire had split. If I would have trusted Budget that it would have made it to Florida safely, I would have not checked and the front tire on a 16ft, fully loaded truck would have blown on a highway and almost likely would have been catastrophic. Budget claims fast in reliable service. I was in a Jonesboro, AK when this happened. So a big enough city. It took 2 hours to get an ETA and another 3 hours to get the tire replaced. At this point it was the middle of the night and we missed our hotel reservation.Fast forward. We get to Florida, the other front tire is now completely bald. I check the truck for inspection dates. Turns out they were 6 months past their annual inspection! Not only that! Budget trucks are supposed to be serviced every so many miles. The next service date was at 66k OR 1,000 miles before. I took the truck at 65,825 odometer reading. On a 1.2k mile trip!Then I check my paperwork and saw that they had LIED about the inspection date! Which is what I originally went off of.The were in violation of federal regulations and I’d say deceptive practice.DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!! Their customer service is a joke from the bottom to the top. I tried reporting this and they replied they’d give me a 30% refund for a dirty truck. So it goes to show that they don’t even read the complaints!

I rented a Budget truck from this location in May for my house move. The staff was nice, but the trucks were very dirty. The first truck they gave me had a filthy interior and storage box, and when I asked for another one, it was just as bad. It seemed like all the trucks at this location were in poor condition. I even had to buy floor sheets to keep my things from touching the dirty storage box, and the truck didn’t drive well either.I don’t recommend renting trucks from this location.

THE LEVEL OF DEFEAT , DISRESPECT & STILL HAD TO WALK BACK HOME IN THE HEAT... Unacceptable Service and a Deeply Frustrating ExperienceI rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience left me feeling completely disrespected and dismissed. From start to finish, the customer service was a mess.After being misinformed over the phone multiple times, I ended up walking in the heat — in temperatures that were honestly unsafe — just to try to resolve the issue in person. When I arrived, I waited even longer, only to be told something completely different than what I had heard earlier. No one seemed to be on the same page, and no one took ownership of the mistake.To make things worse, my card had already been charged — even though the issue wasn’t resolved and I didn’t receive what I came for. I asked for clarification, and instead of help, I got attitude and indifference. It was as if my time and concerns meant nothing.And I can’t ignore a deeper feeling that’s hard to shake: the way I was spoken to, the looks, the lack of urgency — it felt like I was being treated differently. I won’t make assumptions, but I do have to wonder if the color of my skin played a part in how little care or respect I received.No one deserves to be treated like this — not after being patient, not after walking in dangerous heat, and certainly not after being charged for something they never truly got. THIS SHOUT OUTS TO KEVIN THE CSR WHO COMPLETELY WASTED OUR TIME TODAY...WE WALKED UP THERE TWICE IN THIS HEAT..Do better. Treat people better.TO ALL NEW DRIVER'S 21-24YRS OLD YOU WILL NEED A MAJOR CREDIT CARD TO RENT A VEHICLE & IT'S WHAT THE KCMO METRO BUDGET CAR TENTAL HUBS ASK FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS..Most if the other states DO NOT. As we left this location after the 2nd time we noticed how dinged, binged, based, dented, cracked windshields etc. Make sure you inspect take pictures of the vehicle before you leave this property I'm sure someone got charges for damages that were already there. BE ENCOURAGED & STAY ENCOURAGED Y'ALL. I WISH IT WAS A NEGATIVE SCALE TO RATE THIS EXPERIENCE BECAUSE ONLINE, OVER PHONE & IN PERSON TRANSACTIONS WITH BUDGET WERE NOT ACCEPTABLE. THE CRAZY PART IS I WAS CHARGED & HAVE TO WAIT 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS FOR MY MONEY TO BE PLACED IN MY ACCOUNT.. THEY SHOULDN'T TAKE A DIME UNTIL THE LOCATION CLEARED THE PURCHASE...HORRIBLE SERVICE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I will say that I appreciate the concern another woman was there she gave me complete empathy. When I walked up there to find my daughter(EVEN SHE SAID "YEAH HE WAS A BIT RUDE TO HER, HE PUSHED HER PATIENCE W/O EVEN SAYING HE HAS TO HELP OTHERS, HE ASSUMED IT WAS OK TO WASTE HER TIME, SHE DID TELL MY BABY THAT SHE LOOKED CUTE, HER SHOES WERE TOO & ONE DAY SHE'LL BE ABLE TO LAUGH ABOUT THIS) because I was worried her being upset, I couldn't find her because she walked off crying after they waste an hour of her time being rude & brash. SO FAR THE WORST DAY OF OUR LIVES THIS YEAR. THANKS A LOT KEVIN & BUDGET RENTAL..U MADE US WAIT 3-5 DAYS FOR OUR REFUND BUT YOU MADE SURE YOU TOOK MONIES FROM THE ACCOUNT BEFORE WE GOT THERE...REMEMBER THEY CHARGE $50 TO CANCEL AS WELL...

Horrible experience. Reserved a 16foot truck for a Saturday pickup. Arrived and was asked, “Did you get an email? We don’t have the truck.” I advised the only email I had received was the one CONFIRMING the pick up at this location. After several phone calls, the clerk sent us to GRAIN VALLEY MISSOURI to pick up a truck. We were in town to help our daughter move and are completely unfamiliar with the greater Kansas City area. We drove 45 minutes to the new location only to find it was a CLOSED storage rental facility with no one working on site. We stood in the parking lot in Grain Valley Missouri and called and waited to speak to customer service (because we could not get through to anyone at the Olathe location.) When customer service came on line they informed us that we were at the wrong place and they showed our pickup location to be in Kansas City Kansas- 30 MINUTES IN THE DIRECTION WE HAD JUST COME FROM. I called the location (shamrock Storage Facility) to CONFIRM a truck was actually there, and the individual on the line was apparently under the influence of something because he kept asking me if I was related to Rebecca. After talking to him for several minutes I figured out Rebecca was the agent at Budget in Olathe and he had thought he had held a truck for her, that she was the customer…? I don’t even know. We eventually arrived to shamrock and did get the truck, but it took and hour and a half driving back and forth across the far suburbs of Kansas City to do it. People on the “customer service” line were completely unhelpful and uncaring and the I was told repeatedly that “sometimes this happens when you show up to get your reserved truck.” Um, no. That is a not a good response and not a good way to do business.
