Multiple emails to the damage claims address and customer service address have gone unanswered. I have additionally tried calling their customer service number and have been unable to get through to a representative. I cannot stress enough — do not rent from Sixt.Very disappointed with our Sixt rental car experience. As many other negative Google reviews have described, there’s a pattern where they give you a great deal on the rental car but then proceed to slap you with a questionable damage fee. When I picked up my car, they did not park it in a parking spot that would normally allow me to take full photos and videos of the car. Instead, they handed me the keys while the car was in the middle of a busy hotel pickup/drop off circle where hotel guests immediately honked to get me to move. When returning the car after hours, you do not return it to a Sixt employee, but rather hotel valet staff. This makes it unclear when “damage” could occur.It’s a shame they do this, knowing that most people have insurance through their credit cards and will likely be able to pay the claims this way. The staff is absolutely superb. Itzel was incredibly friendly and helpful when I popped into the location to have a few questions answered a few days before pickup. King also helped answer a few questions and was incredibly friendly and helpful when I popped back in again a few hours before pick up. Sara helped me into the car and was incredibly professional, helpful, friendly and informative. I also met Mo, when I picked the car up and he was very friendly as well. I had a fantastic trip and no issues with the car. Sara recommended the prepaid gas option and it was so convenient and helpful. I am familiar with the option but did not realize how much of a game changer it would be coming back into Chicago tired on Monday night and just wanting to return the car! Overall, I can only say incredible things about the SIXT team at the riverwalk Hyatt. 5 stars all around. If it were possibly to give even more stars I would give them more stars.

They advertise the lowest rental price compared to other more reputable companies like Enterprise and hook you with the idea that you're getting a steal but you end up paying the difference in hidden fees and bogus damage claims. If you rent from this company ensure you get the most expensive supplemental insurance they offer that covers damage to the vehicle and take a very detailed video of every inch of the car because they don't do a damage walkthrough with you when you pick up the car nor when you drop it off and in the contract it says YOU are responsible for notifying them of any damage on the car before you drive it off the lot. Without the extra insurance and the video proof that the damage was already there before you took possession of the car they will slap you with a bogus damage claim. I've read a lot about this online from other people that have used SIXT and it seems a common business practice for them to advertise a low cost but slap you with bogus damage claims and hidden fees. Just pay a little extra and go with Enterprise, I've rented from them dozens of times and they've never charged me more than the initial estimate or sent me damage claims for the smallest of scratches.
