Avis Car Rental Introduce
For Nevada residents and visitors arriving in the vibrant Las Vegas area, **Avis Car Rental** at the McCarran Rent-A-Car Center serves as a major gateway for ground transportation. As a well-established global brand, Avis provides a comprehensive range of vehicles designed to meet the diverse needs of travelers, whether they are visiting the Strip for a short stay, planning a long-term relocation, or driving out to explore the state’s natural wonders like Valley of Fire State Park or Lake Mead.
This particular location operates as a critical hub, specializing in both general **Car Rental Agency** services and larger **Van Rental Agency** options. This dual focus ensures that they can accommodate everyone from the solo business traveler needing a fuel-efficient sedan to a large family or group requiring a spacious minivan or a 12-passenger van for group excursions. Avis's fleet typically features a variety of vehicle classes, including compact, full-size sedans like the Toyota Camry, various SUVs (such as the Toyota Rav4 and Chevrolet Equinox), and specialty vehicles, including select luxury models and convertibles, providing plenty of choice for the local user.
While the goal of a global rental brand is consistency, local execution remains paramount. Customers generally expect swift service, competitive pricing, and a well-maintained vehicle. As noted in customer feedback, the experience can sometimes fall short of the 'President's Club' expectations, with issues cited regarding vehicle readiness (e.g., low washer fluid) and discrepancies in the final billing compared to initial reservations. This highlights the importance for customers to practice vigilance, especially when confirming vehicle status upon pickup and securing both the initial contract and the final return receipt to avoid unexpected charges.
Despite occasional service lapses pointed out by consumers, the fundamental convenience and reliability of Avis's vast network and fleet remain key considerations for anyone seeking immediate and diverse rental options in the Las Vegas region.
The Avis Car Rental facility is strategically positioned within the **McCarran Rent-A-Car Center**, which is the consolidated hub for rental car operations serving Harry Reid International Airport (formerly McCarran International Airport). This location offers maximum convenience for arriving passengers and is easily accessible for local residents in the southern end of the Las Vegas Valley.
The facility is located at:
- **Address:** McCarran Rent-A-Car Center, 7135 Gilespie St, Las Vegas, NV 89119, USA
This center is fully equipped with dedicated infrastructure, including an efficient shuttle system that runs continuously between the Rent-A-Car Center and the airport terminals. This integrated system, available 24 hours a day, makes the transition from plane to rental car highly efficient. The location's primary benefit is its **24/7 operation** for both pickup and return, accommodating late-night or early-morning flights without hassle. On-site parking is available for customers, and the entire facility, including the shuttle buses, is ADA equipped, offering a **wheelchair accessible entrance** and **wheelchair accessible parking lot** to ensure ease of access for all customers.
Avis Car Rental at the Las Vegas center offers a robust suite of services typical of a major national provider, with key specializations to meet traveler and local needs.
Core services provided include:
- **Diverse Vehicle Rental Options:** Providing an extensive fleet covering economy cars, midsize and full-size sedans, multiple SUV classes, minivans (like the Chrysler Pacifica), large passenger vans (up to 12-passenger models), and specialty vehicles such as convertibles.
- **One-Way Rentals:** The ability to pick up a vehicle at this location and drop it off at a different Avis location across the city, state, or country, offering flexibility for extended road trips or moves. Note that drop-off charges may apply.
- **Avis Preferred Service:** A loyalty program designed to streamline the rental process, which often allows members to skip the counter and proceed directly to their pre-assigned vehicle, although customer accounts suggest the preferential treatment sometimes lacks consistency in the final vehicle preparation.
- **Onsite Services and Support:** As an **Onsite Service** provider within the Rent-A-Car Center, the facility offers continuous customer assistance, including 24-hour return capabilities, enabling clients to drop off keys and contracts outside of peak business hours.
- **Multiple Payment Methods:** Accepting standard forms of payment for convenience, including **Credit cards, Debit cards, and NFC mobile payments**.
Several key features and highlights distinguish the Avis operation at this large Las Vegas hub, making it a functional choice for Nevadans and inbound travelers.
Notable features and customer benefits include:
- **24/7 Availability:** The location itself and the customer desk often maintain a **24-hour operation, seven days a week**, which is crucial for a major airport center. This allows customers to manage their rentals, including vehicle returns, regardless of their travel schedule.
- **Active Military Discounts:** A valuable feature is the availability of **Active Military Discounts**, providing financial savings as an expression of appreciation for service members and their families traveling through or stationed in Nevada.
- **Consolidated Airport Access:** Being part of the McCarran Rent-A-Car Center eliminates the need to coordinate with multiple individual car rental locations; all major brands are centralized, with dedicated shuttle transportation to and from the Harry Reid International Airport terminals.
- **Advanced Booking Tools and Loyalty Programs:** Through its global network, Avis provides online booking tools and the Preferred Customer program intended to speed up transactions and offer tiered benefits. However, customers should take steps to confirm all details, as highlighted by issues with final invoices differing from original booking amounts and services like roadside assistance being factored into the final bill without explicit in-person agreement.
- **Dedicated Accessibility:** Full ADA compliance with a **Wheelchair Accessible Entrance** and **Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lot** ensures that the facility is user-friendly for all individuals with mobility needs, including the fully accessible shuttle fleet to the airport.
For direct assistance regarding reservations, changes to your existing rental, or general inquiries for the Las Vegas Avis location at the Rent-A-Car Center, please use the following contact details:
- **Address:** McCarran Rent-A-Car Center, 7135 Gilespie St, Las Vegas, NV 89119, USA
- **Phone:** (702) 531-1500
- **Mobile Phone:** +1 702-531-1500
Given the nature of airport services and the scale of this location, utilizing the phone numbers for complex issues or for last-minute changes is recommended. For all transactions, customers are strongly encouraged to document their rental process thoroughly.
For Nevadans or travelers, choosing Avis at the McCarran Rent-A-Car Center is worthwhile primarily due to its **unmatched logistical convenience and fleet variety**. The 24/7 operating hours and the consolidated Rent-A-Car Center structure offer the most practical solution for travelers arriving or departing via Harry Reid International Airport at any time of the day or night. Furthermore, the extensive fleet, including the important availability of **van rentals**, makes it an excellent one-stop-shop for families, large touring groups, or local organizations needing group transport.
However, what is critically worth choosing here is the **absolute necessity of being a proactive customer**. The customer feedback serves as a necessary warning: while the system is convenient, customers must not rely solely on the company's internal process to be flawless. It is imperative to **visually inspect the vehicle** for basic maintenance issues like low fluids before driving away and, most importantly, to **insist on receiving a physical or immediate electronic copy of the signed rental agreement upon pickup and the final receipt upon return**. Taking these precautions will empower the customer to verify all charges, especially those pertaining to optional services like roadside assistance or unexpected fuel costs, ensuring the final amount aligns with the initial reservation and preventing any unwelcome surprises on the final invoice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1As an Avis President’s Club member, one would expect just a little more but nope…. There is no difference comparing to anyone else. Reservation for a common Toyota RAV4 in a month time, and still were not able to delivered and instead gave a Mitsubishi Outlander which is fine. What upset me is that, it seemed the team didn’t check over the vehicle prior renting out to the next customer. The moment I started the vehicle, the windshield washer fluid light was on in my face. This just raised a bunch of questions. Did they check tire pressure, did they maintain and service the car. This is not an emergency light but still it’s on all the time and it’s annoying. Also it chimed here and there while operating the vehicle. So driving through the Avis gate keeper (lot person) and mentioned the windshield washer fluid is low and they said it’s okay. Don’t worry about, you don’t need to use it. The team is a joke, not properly trained. Don’t think that would be the best way to deal with a customer and just brush away issues. Phone in customer service and suggested me to go back for them to top up the fluid. This should have been dealt with before customer picked up the vehicle and we don’t have the time driving back and forth especially we were not close by. As a traveller, we have limited time to do things. Initially I was planing to rate 2 stars, and the more I vent, the more pissed I am hence it is now 1 star service experience. At last, no one ever apologized or offer compensation at all.
July 05 · Paul ChongHello,Be careful with the money — do not leave until you see the rental agreement, both when picking up the car and when returning it.I was completely surprised by Avis Las Vegas. I’ve been an Avis Preferred customer for many years, and I’ve never experienced anything like what happened at this location.I rented a car from them, received the vehicle, and when I asked for the contract at the gate, they told me I would receive it by email. I never received it. Upon return, I handed over the car and asked for a receipt confirming the drop-off, but again they said I would receive it by email. I never received it.A few days later, when I checked my account, I saw why they didn’t send the contract — they charged me much more than what was agreed in the reservation. Additionally, the final invoice had completely different amounts compared to the original booking: rental fee $380, roadside assistance $70. However, on the invoice, both rental and assistance appear as $290, and the rest is shown as fuel charges. Total invoice $499.I will not accept being ripped off!
October 09 · Cosmin CanteriArrived at LAS at 10pm, got to skip the line as a preferred member. Good service at the counter, but no upgrades, football game weekend. Got a pick up truck in good condition. Gave 4 stars because there was no cover for the back of the pick up. It rained on and off that weekend, good thing we had hard case suitcases. Overall good experience.
September 29 · Liz SAvis Car Rental: Stuck in the ’80s, and Not in a Cool WayAvis just reminded me why some companies feel like they’ve been left in a time capsule and not the kind you’d want to open. Imagine this: in 2025, with digital wallets, corporate expense systems, and instant online payments everywhere, Avis still forces the person physically driving the car to be the one paying the service fees. That means if your boss, company, or anyone else wants to cover those charges, too bad, Flintstones Avis doesn’t allow it. They demand the driver pony up directly, as if we’re all standing in line at some fluorescent-lit rental counter in 1987.This isn’t just inconvenient, it’s backwards. Every other modern business understands that companies pay for employee travel, bosses cover their team’s expenses, and corporate cards exist for a reason. Avis? Nope. They cling to an archaic “one person, one credit card” rule like it’s gospel. Because "that's what the handbook says"It’s a perfect example of customer-hostile policies that make zero sense in today’s world. Travelers don’t have time to fight with outdated systems; we need solutions, not stone walls and smart-aleck customer service reps.Bottom line: Avis isn’t “trying harder.” They’re trying less, and making life harder for their own customers. If you want a rental car company that actually respects how business and travel work in the real world, look *literally* anywhere else. Brutal 0 stars
October 18 · Vegas FEEDZNot to anyone’s fault but the lines were insane - be prepared because even with a reservation, you’ll spend 45m to 1.5h waiting in line. Finally get to the teller and what an attitude. Clearly hates people & her job. Made a big deal that I paid by debit - totally allowed & shouldn’t be spoken to in a nasty tone. She expected me to write down my social & I refused. I told her I would tell her and she could punch it in. Didn’t trust it because she had a stack of papers people wrote down their info with socials included. Anyone can grab it & leave.Gave me a car that is absolutely disgusting. Not washed, drips & debris everywhere inside & out. I don’t rent cars ever but this was just the worst experience I’ve ever had and to think they can’t even give someone a car that doesn’t look like the previous person partied in, unbelievable.
