This is now the second vehicle I’ve received from your company in dangerously poor condition, and at this point, I find the situation not only unprofessional, but genuinely alarming and irresponsible.The first vehicle—a Hyundai Sonata—was provided to me under the claim that it was the only available option at the time. It had clearly been sitting unused at the edge of your lot and was not fit for customer use. Upon driving it, I noticed something was off and decided to inspect it. To my shock, the underside of the vehicle was completely scraping the ground, with parts visibly secured with tape. Let me repeat that: the vehicle was being held together with tape—a method that is not only reckless but potentially life-threatening.After reporting the issue, I was provided with a second vehicle—a Volkswagen SUV. Within less than 24 hours, this vehicle also began to show serious mechanical issues. While driving on the highway, the car suddenly began shaking violently and emitting loud warning sounds. I immediately checked the dashboard and was horrified to discover that the coolant (antifreeze) had never been added to the vehicle. The engine was overheating, and I was extremely fortunate to make it home safely. This type of negligence is inexcusable.To make matters worse, your office was closed at the time, and no one was available to answer calls for emergency support. I was left to arrange an Uber to AutoZone and personally purchase the necessary coolant—something that should have been your basic responsibility before handing off a vehicle to any customer.This level of negligence shows a complete disregard for customer safety and demonstrates a serious failure in your internal vehicle inspection and maintenance protocols. A car rental company is expected to provide roadworthy, inspected, and safe vehicles. It is not acceptable to simply cycle cars from one customer to another without proper mechanical checks or quality control.This isn’t just about inconvenience—this is about endangering lives. The issues I’ve encountered could have resulted in a breakdown or worse, a major accident. You are placing your customers at real physical risk, and if this is your standard of service, I will absolutely never return, nor will I recommend your business to anyone.I am requesting a full refund for this rental, as well as reimbursement for the out-of-pocket costs I incurred when purchasing coolant for a vehicle that should never have left your lot in that condition. I will be providing the receipt as proof.Your company needs to take this seriously. Either hire qualified personnel to inspect and maintain your fleet properly, or consider whether you should be in this business at all. If this is not addressed immediately and appropriately, I will have no choice but to escalate this complaint through every available channel.This situation is completely unacceptable. August 18 · MelFrustrating and Disrespectful Customer Service Experience!I rented a car from Enterprise in Hackensack, NJ on Sept 20 and returned it the next day. Because the car wasn’t properly checked in, I’ve been inaccurately charged multiple times and it’s still not fixed.I’ve called, gone in person, and even spoke to a manager who left me on hold for 45+ minutes. When I called back, same thing more waiting, no help. I also emailed corporate and haven’t heard anything back.At this point, I’m exhausted. My next steps are filing a complaint with the BBB and contacting my attorney.To be honest, I feel like I’m being ignored because I’m a Woman. The way I’ve been treated like my time and money don’t matter is unacceptable.Do better, Enterprise.
October 07 · Donjia McDonaldI was very pleased with my recent experience at Enterprise in Hackensack. I had to rent a car twice while my car was being serviced. Both reservations were handled by insurance and this team made everything smooth from start to finish. This is a flagship location and it can get busy, but the staff do their best to move people along and always with a smile and friendly attitude.I was especially impressed with Gary, who helped me a few times. He was pleasant, welcoming and efficient and answered my questions confidently and efficiently. This location has very convenient hours, which is also a nice added benefit. They also offer a local ride service, which is very generous. I didn't use it since I was able to walk, but very nice to know that it's an option. I know I will be returning to Enterprise in Hackensack for my next car rental.

He clearly explained all the details of our rental and ensured we were comfortable before driving off. Great service from start to finish — highly recommend.
August 17 · Yarik DidenkoI chose to get a rental from Enterprise in Hackensack while my car was being repaired. My insurance was covering me for the rental I chose based on what I was allowed. Everything was fine until they billed my insurance incorrectly. So since they sent my insurance an incorrect charge they ended up being underpaid and instead of calling me and letting me know they kept my security deposit to cover the difference. I thought there was a delay in my deposit refund and I called them. The employee told me to give it a few more days. Its been over a month and I almost forgot about my refund ! I called them and they try to say my insurance paid the wrong amount without taking any accountability. First call, they hung up on me. I call back they tell me my insurance paid the wrong amount, third employee tells me my insurance has to reimburse me. I call my insurance and they are trying to figure it out while enterprise has my insurance on hold for over an hour so they said they would call me back. Still have not gotten a call back from my insurance but in reality this is all Enterprises mistake which they are doing nothing to fix.1. If you made a mistake billing the insurance call the client and let them know. Don't BS them.2. Don't charge the client for your mistake, fix what you did wrong.3. Call the insurance and fix your error instead of charging the client without even a call.Terrible customer service, terrible experience, 0 accountability and professionalism.
