Medlife Ambulette Introduce
For many New Yorkers and Long Island residents, especially seniors and individuals with mobility challenges, securing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation to essential appointments is a critical concern. Medlife Ambulette, based in Massapequa, NY, addresses this need as a specialized Handicapped Transportation Service. They are dedicated to providing Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) with a strong emphasis on accessibility and patient care.
Medlife Ambulette’s core mission is to remove the transportation barriers for Wheelchair Users, those needing Gurney Transportation Services, and Seniors who cannot utilize standard Public Transportation or taxi services. They offer a comprehensive suite of services that goes beyond merely getting a person from point A to point B. The company’s focus is on Door To Door assistance, Special Assistance, and ensuring a dignified journey for medical treatments, physical therapy, and hospital transfers throughout the greater New York region.
It is important for potential clients to acknowledge that while the company promotes a patient-centered approach with highly trained professionals and state-of-the-art vehicles, the industry, like all transportation sectors, is highly reliant on driver adherence to safety protocols. This feedback, while a single incident, underscores the absolute necessity for the company to maintain rigorous, ongoing Comprehensive Training, Safety Techniques, and strict adherence to Safety Laws concerning client security in all areas of ambulette services as is regulated in New York State.
As a local business that proudly Identifies as veteran-owned and Identifies as women-owned, Medlife Ambulette has foundational values that suggest a commitment to service and community. Medlife Ambulette Reviews
Driver did not secure wheelchair securely; depended upon chair’s own wheel brakes for side to side safety. Also did not secure my wife into wheelchair with a seatbelt (which I had not noticed on the trip to destination). Upon commencement of return trip driver attempted to use the same method until I had seen that he hadn’t properly secured my wife’s wheelchair nor her in the wheelchair. He kept making excuses and displayed a serious lack of understanding of just how to safely secure a wheelchair bound passenger properly into the vehicle; as well as a total disregard of the laws concerning these regulations. He was lazy and I had to repeatedly ask him to help me assistance with pushing my wife in the wheelchair as I was carrying two bags while trying to push her with much difficulty. He just wanted to drop us off at the entrance of our to destination and completely wash his hands of us. The worst incident occurred when they first arrived to carry my wife down the 7 steps to the rest landing. On the way down one of of the men just totally let go of the wheelchair and walked away saying that he could not do the job! I had to jump in and help the man that was trying to hold her up and and assist him to prevent her from falling down that 1st flight of stairs. Upon completion of return trip, my wife would not trust any of these guys to carry her up the stairs. She hasn’t walked (except 10 feet to and back) to our apartment bathroom; and is actually unable to do even that most times. Yet she had me roll her to the bottom of the stairwell and stand her up, she grabbed the banister with myself assisting immediately behind her in case she couldn’t continue, and she proceeded to pull herself up with her arms and lift her crippled legs one by one until she reached the top of the 1st then the 2nd set 7 steps up to our landing on the 2nd floor. She was so out of breath, so I rushed into the apartment and retrieved her walker and she made her way into our apartment and collapsed into her chair…totally out of breath. I had to give her an emergency breathing treatment using the machine she has for times when her breathing becomes as it was at that moment. And still I gave these lazy ambulette healthcare workers a more than ample tip! I suggest that they be sent for the following classes: 1) Safety in all areas of ambulette services, 2) Safety Laws concerning clients safety; and prevention of causing legalization regarding unsafe practices by MedLife Ambulette. 3) Customer Sensitivity Training and Guidelines for being a full service provider and not just an unconcerned “taxi cab” driver. They need to learn courtesy, compassion, understanding, and remaining with the customer until the customer excuses them, with a clear time to return to the place where they were originally released within the facility to which the customer hired them to which to be taken. 4) Safety Techniques and Use of Safety Transportation of Personnel Aid Products. They need to look into the industry’s latest products which help to ensure safe handling of persons while transporting them in various situations, e.g. up & down stairs, around corners, and whatever other situations that have come to light that been added to the standard of safety and care of the industry in which your business is involved. Until you can assure your clients that these issues have been totally resolved and can show certification on your website that this is the case; I must recommend that nobody even consider using the services you offer, but that they search diligently for another company that offers ambulette transportation services!Respectfully yours,Djalimo Djalimo
