July 09 · Dimitri LoLet me start off by saying I was specifically sent to this location after calling customer service because I was given a car that reeked of marijuana and the air vents had about 2 inches thick of ashes that were not wiped clean and the amount of dings around the car was just unacceptable for the amount of money I am paying. Just a horrible experience from the moment I walked in stating they do not have any “luxury vehicles” he doesn’t know why I was sent there even after reading the note on my account and then the guy I believe his name was Miguel, after about 15 minutes of scrolling on his computer he tried to proceed and give me the keys to a car that had a hit and run and rims and back of the car scuffed with yellow paint as if someone backed up into a pole. The guys in the parking garage are miserable and curse when having to actually do their job. Not to mention I was sitting there waiting while I watched one guy hide didn’t even ask if I needed assistance. When I asked the manager if he would take the car they tried to give me he just struggled his shoulders. After going back to the desk once again I mentioned charging me MORE money (even though I already paid for a luxury vehicle) just to receive a decent car the kid then proceeded to tell me they have more cars ………… make it make sense. They should all be ashamed of themselves.

I specifically chose a Sixt for the premium car selection they advertise everywhere.I reserved a Luxury SUV (BMW or similar) weeks ago. At pickup, I was offered a midsize suv (Mazda). So far, so good. Availability issues can happen. Just apologize, adjust the rate and offer compensation. No. The associate explained to me that a Mazda is an UPGRADE over a BMW with roughly double the MSRP. Sure. Midsize is above luxury. A minivan tops a luxury sedan. I asked to speak to the manager who was busy. To add insult to injury, the Mazda had less than half a tank, 35k miles, a maintenance warning and dirty interior. This is pretty far from the luxury experience that SIXT advertised and it leaves a very sour taste that they are misleading customers regarding the vehicle classes. If I had reserved a midsize they would have pushed the upsell to Luxury for 50 dollars a day but when they can’t fulfill the reservation, they won’t honor a clear downgrade. Please be careful when dealing with this branch.
August 18 · JonasBEWARE: Very disappointing experience. I rented a car for 4 days, and when I went to return it, I was told the garage was full and there was nowhere to leave the car. Customer service was no help at all—they said there was nothing they could do and I’d be charged for another day.They also directed me to return it at Battery Park with a $120 fee, even though the issue wasn’t my fault. To make matters worse, when I got to Battery Park, the location was closed.The whole process was frustrating, time-consuming, and showed zero care for customers. I would strongly recommend avoiding this location.

Jamila was friendly, professional and bey helpful, we waited only a few minutes for the car to be brought to is out front, and the Sixt employee cheerfully loaded the heavy suitcase. It was luxury hotel-level service. Never thought it would be that easy and painless
