The staff clearly explained that the deposit would be returned within 10 business days (excluding weekends), and this information was also stated in the contract I signed. True to their word, I received my security deposit back after 10 business days.I would highly recommend Ace in New Britain, and I encourage others not to rely solely on negative reviews. My experience was nothing like what I had expected, and I am very satisfied with the service.

I cannot get anyone to answer the phones and I called corporate office and they tried to direct me back to the phone number that nobody answers. It is a cycle that keeps going around and around and I am not receiving any help getting my money back. I picked up the car, it was a lower end car than what I reserved which was not a problem. The car smelled like smoke and like weed. I called the woman over and told her and she said “I will mark it in the notes”. Not an apology or offer for another car. It smelled like weed the entire trip I had the car and was disgusting. If my deposit is not returned within 5 days, I will be filing a complaint either the BBB and disputing with my credit card. Although this place is 2 miles from my house and SO conveniently located, I will NEVER rent from them again. I will elect to drive half an hour to the airport instead for more professionalism and a car that does not make me sick to drive in.

I rented a vehicle on September 9 and was provided a car with a severely damaged tire, lacking a spare or jack. Upon notifying the staff, I was instructed to take the vehicle to a shop for tire replacement, which took 75 minutes to complete. A $300 deposit was charged, but I only received a refund on October 10 after contacting corporate, as my calls went unattended.Wish I can give zero stars.

They gave me a different car with no reduction in price. The car was dirty and smelled like smoke. If I had any other choice I would not have taken it. HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND
May 13 · Duane HinksonIf I could I would give this place ZERO stars. My daughter and I booked the car on Ace website, paid and received the confirmation. We called the place directly right away (at noon) to confirm they received our reservation and that they had the car for us. We spoke to Denise who assured us they had multiple cars available, all SUV's waiting in the lot. We were told to get there by 2.30. When we arrived at 1.45 after waiting 45 minutes for someone to assist (there were no customers in the location) we were told they had no cars although we were assured earlier they had multiple.The woman made a few calls and finally she said they had a car. I cannot explain my shock when we saw the car waiting for us. The car was all beat up, seats ripped, filthy dirty with the horrible cigarette smell inside. When my daughter asked for a different car she informed was they had nothing else to offer. She took the car and started driving when she noticed ALL of the cars windows had been tinted dark. This is ILLEGAL in Connecticut, and the person driving that car can get a ticket. In addition the cigarette smell was unbearable so we called the Ace location back. My daughter is pregnant and i have 2 little kids in the car with her. Denise told me her she couldn't do anything about it so we asked to speak to the manager. Christine (the manager) picked up the phone and explained there was nothing she could offer but return the car if we wanted to. My daughter had a meeting that she needed to get to and at this point she was already running late. When we told her w will be coming on Monday to exchange the car she said she couldn't offer the exchange as they had no cars. This is unbelievable, I am so disgusted with the unprofessional service. My daughter asked the manager how they can even offer customers the car with illegally tinted windows and so filthy and if received the citation will her company refund the money. Christine said that they wouldn't reimburse for the citation. I can't believe the fact that the company can even offer a car in this condition to anyone. Please stay away and go somewhere else.We are returning this car on Monday as they closed today at 3 and are closed tomorrow.
