Enterprise Rent-A-Car Introduce
For residents and travelers in Delaware, having access to a reliable, full-service car rental agency in a highly accessible location is crucial. The Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch, conveniently situated within the Wilmington Amtrak Train Station at the Riverfront, is an essential resource for those needing mobility for business trips, weekend excursions, or daily transport. This location specializes in offering a wide selection of vehicles right where many local commuters and long-distance visitors intersect, providing a seamless transition from rail to road.
This branch is particularly noteworthy as it proudly identifies as a woman-owned business, meaning that choosing to rent here is a direct way to support diversity and local entrepreneurship in the Wilmington community. It is a full-service car rental agency committed to providing the same wide fleet and national standards of care that Enterprise is known for, right here in the heart of the city.
However, like any service located in a bustling urban hub, the experience can sometimes be mixed, and local users should be prepared for the realities of a city location. One customer detailed a "horrendous experience" citing difficulties with returning a rental vehicle due to local block party closures and feeling uncomfortable with the surrounding activity in the morning, specifically mentioning the presence of homeless individuals approaching their vehicle. The customer also reported significant issues with the customer service line when attempting to find a safer, alternative drop-off location, which ultimately led to them leaving the keys in a drop box with the vehicle unattended. This highlights that while the location is excellent for access, customers should be mindful of the immediate city environment, especially during after-hours returns or local events, and should inquire about the exact return procedure and secure parking areas upon pickup.
Another account detailed a TERRIBLE experience with a malfunctioning rental car, specifically a wiper blade that made a "SUPER annoying sound," like "metal is scratching on the glass," during a seven-hour rainy drive to upstate NY. The customer suffered a headache for hours due to the noise. While frustrating, this particular issue highlights the paramount importance of checking all vehicle components, especially those related to safety and comfort for long-distance driving, before leaving the lot. While these reviews reflect isolated negative experiences, they serve as a reminder for all renters to be proactive about vehicle checks and to be clear on the expected service and safety protocols, particularly given the branch's downtown location.
The Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch is exceptionally positioned for both local residents and out-of-town visitors, as it is situated directly inside the major regional transportation hub of the Wilmington Train Station. This makes it an ideal spot for those arriving via Amtrak or SEPTA who need immediate onward travel in Delaware or the surrounding tri-state area.
The address places the branch right in the vibrant Wilmington Riverfront area, providing easy access to I-95, which is the main north-south artery running through Delaware. This strategic location minimizes the hassle of navigating deep into the city to collect a vehicle.
The official contact and location details are:
- Address: 100 French St Unit 115A, Wilmington, DE 19801, USA
To ensure a smooth transaction for all customers, the facility is equipped with comprehensive accessibility features:

Furthermore, on-site parking is available for customers during the pickup process. For returns, especially after hours, customers are advised that procedures involve placing keys in a drop box inside the Train Station, so confirming the exact drop-off area and security measures beforehand is highly recommended.

The Enterprise Rent-A-Car at the Wilmington Train Station is an excellent choice for a specific subset of Delaware users and travelers due to its unparalleled convenience and accessibility. For anyone arriving in Wilmington via Amtrak or SEPTA, this location eliminates the need for taxis or rideshares to reach a rental desk, immediately streamlining the journey. Its proximity to the Riverfront and I-95 also makes it a strategically sound choice for those heading north to Philadelphia or south to the Delaware beaches. The fact that the branch is a woman-owned business is a positive differentiator, allowing local customers to support an important part of the city's economic landscape.
However, potential customers must choose this location with eyes wide open regarding its urban setting and after-hours procedures. While the convenience is top-tier, the reality of the downtown location means being vigilant, particularly during evening or early morning returns, as noted by the customer concern regarding the surrounding environment and safety. The documented issues with customer service handling return-related concerns suggest that users should always confirm the exact return process and location security before leaving with the vehicle, especially if returning outside of business hours.
Ultimately, for the traveler who prioritizes location, speed of access, and supporting a woman-owned local entity, this branch is unmatched. It offers the full power of the Enterprise fleet combined with a central location. Just remember to be proactive: inspect your rental for potential issues like faulty wipers before a long drive, and be clear on all return logistics to ensure a safe and stress-free rental experience. The benefits of seamless train-to-car transition and supporting a local, accessible business make this a very valuable resource for the Wilmington community, provided users manage the nuances of a major city center location.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This was a horrendous experience. We attempted to return our rental the night before it was due back and were blocked by a block party happening in the city. We returned in the morning only to have the area over saturated by homeless individuals approaching the vehicle and asking for money. We did not feel comfortable by any means leaving the rental vehicle where we had to. We contacted the customer service number and were told we’d be charged an undisclosed amount to bring to a safer, more suitable location. We were hung up on by customer service and told to just leave the vehicle at the original location which required the vehicle to be unattended while the keys were transported to another location in an adjacent building. We will never use Enterprise again.
September 03 · Karlie PaolettiWiper made SUPER annoying sound. It was like metal is scratching on the glass. I rent it at Delaware and drove for 7 hours to get to the upstate NY. I was driving with the wiper noise for a few hours in rainy. That makes me and passenger headache at the time as well as even after leaving the car. The headache lasted for a whole night at the night. TERRIBLE, Absolutely TERRIBLE experience. The worst experience ever.
July 08 · K Y2025I have already completed the actions suggested by the branch, which is why I have now submitted a formal complaint to Enterprise corporate via the BBB. My concerns regarding the unsafe vehicle and significant disruptions remain unresolved.I rented a car from Enterprise at Wilmington Amtrak Station expecting reliability. Instead, I received a vehicle with a slow tire leak. I had to stop multiple times on my drive to Macon to pay for air, missed a critical meeting with my builder, and wasted hours being redirected between locations.Customer service hung up on me once and offered no real help. The branch manager promised someone from upper management would call me. No one ever did. Even after escalating to corporate, I received no response.Unsafe vehicle. Broken promises. Zero accountability.
August 24 · Tori AlbrightI always use Enterprise. They have a standard of customer service that is very rare these days. DaeShawn and Yassin were polite, courteous, and quick to serve. They were able to explain new policy changes to me and give me sources to help me complete my trip and for future trips. The area was clean and so was the vehicle. I will always use Enterprise for all my transportation needs!
