They DON'T know how to Hold Cars with a reservation !!! I was CALLED on the Day of my Rental, they didn't have a CAR for me.If I didn't Go down there and Force them to HONOR my Reservations my Vacation would have been Canceled !!! We rented a car for 1.5 days (which cost the same as 2 full days) and tried to return it shortly after business hours. They close at 5 PM and offer no option for late returns. Unfortunately, we were delayed due to a highway closure caused by an accident and tried calling them several times to inform them, but no one answered.When we arrived, the lady was still behind the counter but refused to accept the return. The next morning, we brought the car back as soon as they opened, and there was no mention of late fees or any similar charges. However, we were later charged for an additional full day. Never again!

The quick summary:- serious concerns with vehicle servicing- conflicting information from on-site staff and customer service department led to poor customer experienceThe full experience:I normally rent from Enterprise down the road, but I decided to try and save a few bucks and give Avis a try. When I arrived to pick up my rental, an irrate customer was yelling at the staff about getting refunded for some expenses related to a flat tire. That should have been a warning flag, but I figured flat tires happen, can't blame that on the company.I picked up my rental with a 1/2 tank of gas and proceeded to drive to Arizona for business. On my way, the change oil notification informed me the car was due for an oil change. Unfortunate timing, but not a big deal, I would just let them know when I returned to CA. I drove the car for the remainder of the week with no issue. The night before returning home, I filled up the car with gas, preparing for the trip the following day. The next morning, the car started having engine troubles and was having issues accelerating over 50 mph. Not wanting to drive all day in limbo, I limped into a nearby Avis. They begrudgingly swapped me over to their last available vehicle, a mini-van. At this point, I was just happy to have a functional vehicle that also had a full tank for the long drive home. Shortly after leaving, it became apparent that the shudder from the rear axle was something I was going to have to tune out for the 6 hr drive home.On return home, I filled up the new rental to half full, as that was how I had received the original rental. At return, the associate informed me that I would be charged a fuel surcharge of $80 for returning the vehicle half full because the vehicle was full at pick-up and advised that I fill it up to avoid the surcharge and the seek a refund for the fuel from their service department. I was now the irrate customer yelling at the staff. I took the car to a nearby gas station, and topped it off as instructed. She conveniently gave me the contact info for the service department and I promptly filed a ticket. After a few email exchanges, including sharing the final fueling receipt, the service department responded that they could not refund me because Avis had not issued any fueling charges.Almost nothing about this one-time experience with Avis was positive, which is in stark contrast to the multiple positive experiences I've had with Enterprise/National. Thank you for making the decision for my next rental very easy.

My husband and I are impressed with this office, due to the reservation associate, Jackie, who is professional, easy to work with, and always has a welcoming smile. I've dealt with other Avis offices on the East and West coasts (as well as other car rental agencies) and because of her outstanding service, we've become loyal customers!
