After a long wait, I was told I’m on a waitlist with 15 people ahead for a car. This is the second time I’ve experienced this here, and colleagues say they had to share cars in the past for the same issue. This is unacceptable. Avis must address this recurring issue. Highly disappointing!
May 20 · Edgar RoblesDo NOT ignore the negative reviews like we did. We waited almost TWO HOURS for our rental car (7-seater SUV) as a President's Club member. There was a line a mile long behind us and two other President's Club bookings were in the same boat as us. The front desk staff were trying to help, but it was really just a pitiful operation. The owners should be ashamed. We were finally given a car after about an hour but the battery was dead, so it was back to square one. Additionally, once we finally did get a functioning car, we were put in a death trap. We did not realize this until we returned the car that the steel belts were showing on the tires. A car that we drove for five days through the winding NC mountain roads was a car that should not have been driven down the street due to safety concerns. We will never again be using this Avis location, and would highly recommend no one else make the same mistake that we did. Not only did we lose two hours of our time, but we were actually put in real danger thanks to the carelessness of Avis. Also, less important than life threatening danger but still important to note, the car had clearly not been cleaned at all before it was given to us.

She was so polite and sweet, and went out of her way to make sure I had the perfect car for my trip. Her willingness to help and positive attitude made the whole process a breeze. I can't recommend her and this location enough!
September 16 · Tina ValentinTwo rentals in a row from Avis I have been scammed each time on my final receipt. Had I not been watching my credit card bill I would have paid $400 above the prepaid rental rate. Avis today is not Avis of old. $87 was charged the first time for mileage above the allowed amount when we were under the allowed 750 miles. The second occurrence happened this weekend and I was charged for fuel when I returned it full. I am still fighting to get my almost $300 back on this. I used Avis for 30 years in business, and without a doubt I'll be going somewhere else now. If you stop and read reviews, they are horrible everywhere. You have no recourse outside of off shore "Customer Service". There is not a stateside customer complaint form, no phone number, nothing. As a side note, the car we rented was 57k miles, needed brakes, and they were using off brand tires. Something really bad has happened to Avis. Avis we are done. Good luck on your impending class action.
September 08 · Chris ClarkI have traveled the country for close to 25 years and always rent from Avis. This is by far the worst airport Avis I have ever encountered. Everytime I come to Greenville, there is a an issue at the Avis counter. Usually, it is a long line of an unorganized Avis counter. Today, no cars available, despite a reservation made one month ago. I was put on the waitlist and told to there may be a car available in about 30 minutes or longer. How kind of them.
