There was no signage at the casino and the email from Avis had no details specifying what to do with the car. The Avis desk was closed, it’s only open til 12p. When we arrived, we asked at the hotel registration desk and they were not sure what to do. We drove around for 45 minutes in Vegas traffic asking people if they knew where rental return was until we finally learned about designated spots on the 4th floor of the parking garage.Then there were no instructions or resources in the Avis section of the garage for how to return the car. It’s a good thing for google and that we held onto the slip they gave us 2 weeks ago when we rented the car bc we were expected to fill out the back side and bring it into the hotel drop box. Just a nightmare. Like I said, never again.

Due to availability, I was given a free upgrade. All the tires had air and tread. He explained where the car was to the best of his ability. It wasn't a problem for me because I'm a young person. Successfully finished my 1,200 mile trip.
July 16 · Amer ĆehićAvoid this company! They gave us patched tire and it went flat between Las Vegas and Grand Canyon. We put on a spare tire with hope that Avis will help us and we will be able to continue our long trip. Since then, they provided us with 0 assistance! We called their emergency road assistance, their offices around the area and no one is doing anything. Only answer is they don’t have any cars in any of the offices near us. We missed out on so many of our reservations and we came all the way from Europe for this. Thanks for nothing, Avis
September 19 · MajaMy wife and I traveled to Las Vegas for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We thought it would be nice to visit the North end of the Las Vegas Strip and do a little shopping, see Fremont St and some other locations as well as getting dinner out and using the rental car to take us to our Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopter tour on Aug 12. At 2:00 pm on August 11, 2025, I went online to AVIS to see about renting a car and turns out they had a rental counter in the hotel. When I got to the AVIS Rental counter on August 11 at 2:22pm she couldn’t find my reservation then asked for my reservation number and discovered I mistakenly booked the rental for Aug 12 when I needed it Aug 11.. She immediately offered to move my rental back to Aug 11 but she only had one vehicle left which was a Honda Odyssey. We thanked her and decided the minivan was ok and she checked us out, handed us keys and told us that the vehicle was on Level 4 in Row A of the parking garage.We picked the car up around 3:00pm by hitting the alarm button on the key to find the vehicle. To be fair we did not look at the paperwork because logically, if the key worked on the car then it must be the right car. We got in and headed to Canes chicken fingers for a late lunch. We then drove around a little, ended up at Fremont Street and then the Pawn Stars Shop. When I pulled out of the shop, the gas gauge dinged at me with a low gas warning. I was confused as to how it was out of gas because we had only driven around 20 miles total and the AVIS Agent said that the tank was full. At that point I decided to check my paperwork to see if it was supposed to have a full tank and that is when I noticed that by looking at the paperwork, we were in the wrong vehicle.• The vehicle we were in was a White Honda Odyssey, the paperwork said it was a Black one.• The Mileage on the paperwork said it had 17,129 miles but it had 17,122 miles on the odometer, and we had already driven about 20 miles.• The Paperwork said that the fuel tank was full and the fuel tank was almost empty.At this point I located a number on our rental paperwork and tried to call AVIS for Support. I eventually spoke with a man at the international call center who advised me to take pictures and go back to the AVIS Counter the next morning to try and get some resolution. The more I thought about it the more nervous I became because if we were in the wrong car then it could be reported stolen or the insurance coverage I had purchased would be invalid if we were in an accident. We decided it would be best to take the vehicle back right then and talk to the Agent at the desk to see what the mixup was about. I ended up putting 5.88 Gallons of gas in the van to make sure we had enough to get back and to cover the couple of gallons I had already used. Then we headed back to the casino and I pulled back into Mandalay Bay’s parking deck at approximately 6:30 on August 11, which was 3.5 hours after we picked up the vehicle and about 20 minutes after talking to the AVIS International Call Center.We went straight to the AVIS Desk but it had closed at 3:00 so we left the keys in the dropbox at the front desk and waited until the next morning to see what AVIS would do to rectify the issue and get us a car. The next morning we ended up talking to the agent. She stated that there was nothing she could do about our reservation and advised us to call AVIS again. I went back to my room and got on the phone with AVIS. I ended up reaching the international call center again, spoke with a lady who listened to me then said there was nothing she could do and gave me a phone number for Budget Rental Car Customer Service. I then google the customer service number for AVIS (it was different) and called. I eventually spoke with a person there who documented my story and said someone would be in touch with me via email.I have not responded to that email because I received AVIS’s social media response to my google review and I am hoping for some help.
August 14 · Mark HallThe others reviews are true. I have been renting from AVIS since 2017 - done drop off(even after hours) but have never seen a sketchier business as this location. Dropped off the car at the designated spot - no employee was available during business hours. Walked to the counter at Mandalay bay and they asked to drop the key in the drop off box at their desk. Asked for a final bill and they said should be emailed in the next 48 hours.On my bill there was a notorious charge labelled as Local Tax (50% of the base price) in addition to all the taxes. When I looked at the bill online - it’s says refuelling costs. There is no way this can be true considering I filled up the tank right before dropping off.This locations practices should be investigated. One review can be a mistake but this seems consistent.
