Uber Accessible Rides Introduce
For residents and visitors in the greater New York City area requiring specialized mobility services, Uber Accessible Rides represents a dedicated handicapped transportation provider focused on accessibility and comprehensive assistance. Located in Jamaica, Queens, this company is not merely a taxi service but a full-scale Disabled Transportation Service, offering a crucial lifeline for those who depend on wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs), ambulettes, and a variety of non-emergency medical transport options.
The agency’s core mission revolves around providing Door To Door and specialized medical transportation—services that go far beyond what standard ride-hailing or yellow cab services can consistently offer. They cater to a broad range of needs, from routine Doctors’ Appointments and Dialysis Appointments to complex Hospital Transfers and Accessible Airport Transportation, particularly serving JFK International Airport and other major travel hubs.
It is important for customers in the New York region to understand the distinction between this dedicated service and the standard "Uber WAV" option found within the mainstream Uber app. While the business name is similar to the popular ride-share option, the extensive list of services—including Stretcher Transportation and Ambulette Transportation Services—suggests a focus on non-emergency medical and planned specialized transport rather than spontaneous, on-demand rides. This is critical for users to ensure they are booking the correct type of service for their needs.
A significant point of pride for this Queens-based company is its identity: it Identifies as veteran-owned and also Identifies as women-owned. This combination speaks to a commitment to community and service that many New Yorkers value when choosing local providers. Their office in Jamaica is equipped with a Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible restroom, and Wheelchair accessible seating, further demonstrating their operational commitment to accessibility.
However, while the range of services is vast, customer reviews highlight a critical need for attention to detail, particularly with scheduled and airport-related bookings. Reports of booking issues, communication difficulties regarding pickup locations (like the noted Barclays Center/Ashland Place confusion), and unexpected trip cancellations with subsequent difficulties in obtaining refunds or compensation suggest that New Yorkers should reserve their service well in advance and proactively confirm all logistics, especially for time-sensitive travel.
Uber Accessible Rides maintains a physical presence in the borough of Queens, serving as a hub for their specialized transportation network across the New York metropolitan area. Their location is vital to their service in Jamaica, a key transit and commercial center.
- Queens Headquarters: The main office is located at 130-11 Atlantic Ave ste 303, Jamaica, NY 11418, USA. This address in Queens places the operation close to major hospital networks and provides strategic access to arterial roads and transportation corridors necessary for serving the five boroughs and surrounding counties.
- Accessibility on Site: The company's commitment to accessibility extends beyond their vehicles to their physical office space. The location includes:
- A Wheelchair accessible entrance, ensuring smooth entry for visitors.
- Wheelchair accessible seating in waiting areas.
- A Wheelchair accessible restroom, providing comfort and convenience for all clients.
- Service Area: As a dedicated Handicapped Transportation Service operating out of Queens, their service radius is designed to cover the extensive needs of New Yorkers. They frequently handle:
- Accessible Airport Transportation to and from major hubs like JFK and LaGuardia.
- Transportation for seniors and people with disabilities throughout the densely populated city and suburban regions.
The firm's establishment in Jamaica, coupled with their on-site amenities, reinforces their position as a reliable, physically accessible resource for specialized travel needs in the NYC area.

Uber Accessible Rides stands out in the New York transportation market due to its dual commitment to specialized service and civic identity.
- Specialized Fleet and Service Range: A primary highlight is the availability of Wheelchair Ramp-equipped vehicles and the capability to handle complex transfers such as Stretcher Transportation. This surpasses the offerings of generic ride-share companies and standard taxi fleets, making it a critical resource for complex non-emergency medical or mobility needs.
- Veteran and Women-Owned Status: The company Identifies as veteran-owned and women-owned. For New Yorkers who prefer to support businesses with deep community ties and diverse ownership, this is a compelling feature that speaks to a commitment beyond basic transport.
- 24-Hour Availability: Offering 24-hour Disabled Transport provides essential peace of mind, especially for unforeseen needs or late-night hospital discharges, making it a highly dependable service in a 24/7 city like New York.
- Door-to-Door Assistance: The provision of Door Transportation Services and Wheelchair Assistance means drivers are often trained to provide more than just a ride, helping clients navigate from their door to the vehicle and vice versa, which is invaluable for seniors and individuals with limited mobility.
- Warning on Scheduled Trip Reliability: A critical highlight for potential customers to note is the reported inconsistency in fulfilling pre-scheduled bookings, particularly for airport transport. The public reviews suggest that, despite making reservations weeks in advance, unexpected cancellations and subsequent difficulty obtaining full refunds, including price differences, can occur. Customers should re-confirm all details multiple times and have a backup plan for crucial appointments like flight departures.

Choosing Uber Accessible Rides is highly recommended for New Yorkers whose transportation needs exceed the capabilities of a standard sedan, ride-share vehicle, or even a basic accessible taxi. What makes this service truly worth choosing is its sheer specialization and dedicated equipment. For a resident of Queens or the wider NYC area requiring Stretcher Transportation for a Hospital Transfer, a Wheelchair Van for regular Dialysis Appointments, or specific Wheelchair Assistance, this agency's comprehensive menu of non-emergency medical and handicapped transportation is irreplaceable. The focus on Door To Door service, complemented by staff receiving Comprehensive Training, ensures a level of care and logistical support vital for individuals with serious mobility limitations or health concerns.
The fact that the service is also a certified veteran-owned and women-owned business is an appealing factor for those in the community who wish to support companies reflecting the diversity and service values of the region. The 24-hour availability of Disabled Airport Transport provides a critical, scheduled option for travelers with disabilities who need certainty for their journey to or from a New York airport.
However, the critical caveat for choosing this provider is the absolute necessity of proactive communication and verification. The public feedback underscores that while the service *can* be excellent, reliance on a seamless experience for critical, pre-booked journeys, such as airport runs, should be tempered with diligent follow-up. Customers must Book Accessible Transport Online or by phone and then meticulously confirm the reservation details, pickup instructions (especially for public locations where signage may be poor), and the final quoted price to avoid stressful last-minute complications. For routine, less time-critical medical appointments where the specialized vehicle is the priority, the service offers unmatched value. For high-stakes, time-sensitive trips, the user’s diligence is the ultimate deciding factor in the quality of the experience.

Uber Accessible Rides Reviews
This review is for the Brooklyn LGA shuttle. The Uber app took me to Barclays Center while the actual pick up was opposite the Apple Store on Ashland Place. No signage! A very poor experience! I messaged the Uber driver for exact location and did not hear back. I was lucky to see a black van and had to sprint to make the connection! This was way too stressful!
September 03 · Don WoodsWe were in NY for New Year and we have reserved an Uber for Persons with limited access to go back to the airport a few weeks before our trip to NY. We were waiting in the lobby of the hotel for the taxi foreseen on Jan 1st 15h15 when I received a message from Uber at 14h50 saying that our Uber trip was done and that we could give a tip to the driver!. As I'm with limited access I was stressed and we had to take our flight back. I tried to call Uber and impossible to join them, I tried to ask another Uber but the price was more than the triple we booked a few weeks before... So we have had to take the first taxi we found and paid 100dollars more than the foreseen price with Uber! I tried to contact Uber after, asking them to refund me the price they took on my bankaccount and to pay us the price difference giving them the proof of what we paid. During 3 months they didn't answered me properly and said the refund me the money. They have done like if my demand of refunding me also the price difference was never asked. And they always closed the conversation. They send me an e-mail saying me that The Driver LUIS took someone else when he came to the hotel and that was the reason why he didn't took us!!!!! They just write this on an e-mail conversation!!!! and a few weeks after I received mail from Uber to promote the Uber taxis for going and come from the Airport! Never Trust Uber for such an important travel for sure in the states! I have totally another experience in South Africa where everything was always OK.I'm still waiting that Uber or the driver LUIS that didn't respect our contract pay me the price difference I've had to pay but they just ignore my demand!
