Kinto Share Introduce
Welcome to the next generation of driving convenience in California with KINTO Share. As an innovative car rental agency backed by Toyota, KINTO Share is changing how local users in the Los Angeles area access transportation. Located conveniently in Culver City, this service operates on a modern, app-based car-sharing model designed for ultimate flexibility, offering a seamless and contactless experience right from your smartphone. Whether you need a fuel-efficient sedan for a few hours of errands, a reliable SUV for a weekend getaway, or a vehicle for rideshare and delivery work, KINTO Share provides a wide selection of modern, meticulously maintained Toyota and Lexus vehicles, including a focus on hybrid and electric models.
KINTO’s philosophy is built on providing "ever better mobility for all," aiming to reduce the burdens of traditional car ownership while offering stress-free access to transportation. Their model is distinct in that it minimizes the need for physical rental counters and key exchanges, replacing them with a completely digital, self-serve process. This not only speeds up the pick-up and drop-off times but also ensures a clean, ready-to-drive vehicle is waiting for you at a dedicated location. This commitment to modern, tech-forward service makes KINTO Share a compelling option for tech-savvy Californians who value efficiency and transparency in their mobility solutions.
However, while the service aims for convenience, prospective users should be aware of the importance of adhering strictly to the rental terms, especially concerning return times and vehicle maintenance. Public feedback, while reflecting the modern convenience, also highlights the strict enforcement of policies. Users who meticulously follow the terms—checking the car thoroughly upon pick-up and returning it promptly—will find the contactless service highly beneficial.

Culver City offers excellent accessibility, situated near major freeways, making it easy to reach from neighborhoods like Santa Monica, Venice, and Mid-City. The agency is specifically noted for its on-site accessibility features, which include a Wheelchair accessible parking lot. This detail is a significant feature, ensuring that the facility is designed to accommodate all users. Being a modern car-sharing service, the true accessibility is in the self-serve, app-based nature of the rental process, which allows for quick, keyless entry to the vehicle without the hassle of long lines at a traditional counter. All payments for the service are handled conveniently via Credit cards, aligning with a streamlined, digital transaction model.
KINTO Share’s model is distinct from traditional rental car agencies, focusing on flexible, short-term access to a modern vehicle fleet.
- App-Based Car-Sharing: The entire process—from application and reservation to unlocking and starting the vehicle—is handled through the KINTO app, offering a true contactless experience.
- Flexible Rental Periods: Vehicles are available for rent on hourly, daily, and weekly options, allowing users to select the exact duration that suits their specific needs, from quick errands to extended trips.
- Modern, Fuel-Efficient Fleet: The fleet consists primarily of modern Toyota and Lexus models, with a strong emphasis on hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs), appealing to environmentally conscious drivers and those looking to save on fuel costs. Specific vehicle categories available include Compact, Sedan, Midsize, Crossover, and SUV.
- Rideshare and Delivery Vehicle Rentals: KINTO Share is a popular choice for drivers working with platforms like Uber and approved delivery services, providing reliable, well-maintained vehicles for gig work with included maintenance and insurance.
- All-Inclusive Pricing: Rental fees typically include basic insurance coverage (e.g., liability coverage up to specified limits) and vehicle maintenance, which simplifies the driving experience and avoids unexpected costs for basic care.
- 24/7 Roadside Assistance: All rentals are backed by 24/7 roadside assistance, providing an essential safety net for any issues that may arise during the rental period.
The key features of choosing KINTO Share stem from its technology-driven, customer-focused approach to mobility.
- Contactless and Keyless Access: The use of a smartphone app for unlocking and starting the vehicle is a major highlight, eliminating the need to wait for keys or interact with a rental counter.
- Hybrid and EV Availability: A significant portion of the fleet is composed of fuel-efficient hybrid and electric vehicles, offering drivers a chance to experience advanced, sustainable automotive technology.
- Worry-Free Maintenance and Insurance: The inclusion of basic maintenance and insurance in the rental fee is a strong selling point, covering potential costs and simplifying the logistics of short-term car use. Liability insurance is provided, though renters should review the specific terms on damage fees and deductible responsibilities.
- Strict Return Policy with Grace Period: KINTO employs a clear, if strict, late return policy, which includes a 59-minute grace period to accommodate minor delays before late fees begin to apply, though substantial delays are heavily penalized.
- Toyota-Backed Quality: The fleet consists entirely of Toyota and Lexus vehicles, guaranteeing a high level of reliability and safety, which is a major advantage for commercial and personal renters alike.
- Damage Responsibility: Renters are responsible for returning the vehicle in the condition it was received. A damage fee of up to $1,000 may apply for incidents resulting in damage to the vehicle, third parties, or third-party property, even with included insurance.

The ability to use the KINTO app for immediate, keyless access to a modern Toyota or Lexus, often a fuel-efficient hybrid or EV, is a significant advantage for those with fast-paced, dynamic schedules.
The all-inclusive nature of the rental fee, which covers basic insurance and maintenance, is a transparent approach that eliminates common uncertainties of car rentals. For rideshare and delivery drivers, the offering is particularly compelling, providing reliable, compliant vehicles with predictable costs, thus maximizing earning potential.
However, the importance of strictly adhering to the terms cannot be overstated. Users must understand that while the service is convenient, the company is diligent in enforcing policies like timely returns and charging for damages, even those incurred due to unforeseen circumstances like a blown tire, as noted in public feedback. To have a positive KINTO experience, local users must be proactive: thoroughly inspect the vehicle before pick-up, document any pre-existing damage, and strictly manage the return time to avoid substantial late penalties. For the disciplined and tech-savvy driver, KINTO Share offers a reliable, modern, and high-quality alternative to traditional car rental and ownership in the heart of Southern California.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Tire exploded on the highway almost killing me and my son . Talked to 2 people and they said it wasn't my fault and was charged anyways $325 for them giving me a death trap. I documented everything and had my dashcam on at the time. Will be taking them to court.Edit: My bank was aware of their bad business practices. Go through your banks if kinto won't help .
May 26 · RiddlequleDo not use this company, I returned the car late and they charged me $160. Horrible customer service! Every other car rental agency will only charge you by the hour if your late, not Kinto!
March 19 · Tracy GainesThis is the worse choice I have ever made to rent from them. They don't let you know that all cars have limited mileage, until you will find out by yourself later. While other companies offer you unlimited mileage on the car. Also the company don't have tolls tags/devices on the car so you will be charged unexpected high amount every time you’re going to use the toll roads. Lastly the handling was extremely difficult, there is no physical employees that can help you to locate the cars or to assist you with accessing it. You will not be provided a physical key, it’s all handled in their app with make is hard to lock and unlock the car sometimes especially if you’re hands are busy any you can’t use your phone. Overall, my experience was horrible and I don’t wish for anyone to go through the same issue. Try to avoid renting from them!!!!
June 07 · Mustafa AliI just don’t understand why companies like this want to make money but don’t want to spend money. I’ve driven three cars with them and gradually found out the cars may not be frequently maintained. The first car I got failed within a day.The second car needed an oil change and new tires within the second week. And the third car I picked up; soon as I turned the engine on the car did “maintenance needed”. Customer agent says return the car but never refund or exchange. Whats the point of exchanging anyway when there’s a good chance I’ll end up with a dysfunctional car?The system is designed to leave every user liable for anything regarding the cars condition and functioning. When you pick up the car you have to report its condition. Whatever you report will fall on the previous driver. If you don’t report you will be responsible for any damage or maintenance work.Almost all the cars I believe are over 100k miles so they have wear internally and some externally. For the three cars I rented, the wheels were never aligned or maintained. They all had random friction while driving, felt loose; and on multiple occasions the cars skid on hills if I’m stopped in traffic on a hill. I drive mostly around Pasadena and north Hollywood. It was a nightmare getting caught in a full stop on a hill because I know soon as I take my foot off the break the car would roll back and screech while I hit gas. I would pray no one was tailgating me. Fortunately I was only doing deliveries because having passengers would’ve embarrassed me and probably got me bad ratings. Then there’s the virtual locking and unlocking of the car. You are out of luck if you get off work or your phone just randomly dies. You won’t be able to get in the car unless you can find some way to reach them, which I’m sure would take a bit of time.It happened to me before after completing a shop and pay order my phone died right before I got to the car. Fortunately the phone powered back on for 30 seconds as dying iPhones usually do, and I frantically found the app and unlocked the car.My advice; walk with a portable charger.Things I love about kinto is that some of the cars are tinted and I can pick up without going to a counter. It may work out for a one or two day use, but I would not recommend for long term rentals over a week.
May 01 · Daydo SanThis company does not care if you crash burning, die with paid passengers in the vehicle. They just rented me a car with no horn. I got to learn that high speed with a truck coming at me. They did offer me eight dollars for what they continuously referred to as my inconvenience.. They cost you more than you earn with their nonexistent service and maintenance.By the way, turns out they’re a fully owned front for Toyota. They absolutely have the resources to do the right thing but pretend to be a small startup with no phone based customer service or physical office.
