U.S. Ambulette Introduce
For residents and healthcare providers in the New York metropolitan area, particularly in Brooklyn, finding reliable, compassionate, and specialized transportation for individuals with mobility challenges is a critical necessity. U.S. Ambulette is a dedicated Handicapped Transportation Service focused on providing non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) to ensure patients can reach their essential appointments and various destinations safely and comfortably. This type of service is crucial for seniors, individuals using wheelchairs, and those with chronic medical conditions who cannot utilize standard taxi services or public transit.
The core mission of an ambulette service is to bridge the gap between emergency transport (ambulance) and regular transit options, offering a vehicle that is properly equipped with wheelchair lifts and securement systems. U.S. Ambulette is positioned to handle routine travel for critical medical needs, such as regular dialysis center visits or doctor appointments, as well as more personal transportation requirements like family events and airport transfers. They operate a fleet of vehicles designed to be fully wheelchair accessible, providing a door-to-door service where drivers are expected to assist passengers safely into and out of the vehicle.
It is important for New York users to note that the reliability and quality of service can be highly variable in the NEMT sector. While the service provides indispensable options for people with disabilities, customer feedback for U.S. Ambulette, like many similar providers, reflects both the urgent need for the service and significant frustration. Concerns frequently revolve around dispatch and communication, with reports of long wait times for pickup and difficulties in reaching administrative staff or higher management to resolve service issues. Choosing U.S. Ambulette means opting for a specialized service vital to accessibility, but prospective users should be aware that operational inconsistencies, particularly with scheduling and communication, have been highlighted by previous customers.
U.S. Ambulette is headquartered in the Canarsie/East Flatbush area of Brooklyn, serving as a dispatch and operations base for their fleet of specialized vehicles across the New York region. The physical address for the facility is: 945 E 108th St, Brooklyn, NY 11236, USA.
The location on East 108th Street places the company in a busy residential and commercial part of Southeast Brooklyn. This area is easily accessible to and from key healthcare facilities and nursing homes scattered throughout Kings County and the wider metropolitan area. While the service itself is door-to-door, the headquarters’ location is convenient for their operational and fleet maintenance needs.
Because U.S. Ambulette is a provider of a mobile service, the main accessibility consideration for a client is the vehicle itself. The defining feature is the assurance that their vehicles are designed to be Wheelchair Accessible, typically equipped with hydraulic lifts or ramps to safely accommodate passengers in their mobility devices, ensuring a secure transfer from their home or facility to the van. While client visits to the 945 E 108th St address are rare since the business focuses on transport provision, its location helps the company efficiently deploy services across Brooklyn and the other boroughs.
U.S. Ambulette focuses on a comprehensive range of non-emergency transportation services for individuals who require specialized assistance and wheelchair accessibility. Their services are crucial for individuals who need reliable passage to and from medical and long-term care facilities.
The specialized services provided include:
Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Services: The flagship offering, providing scheduled, non-critical transport to ensure patients receive consistent care without delay.
Ambulette Transportation: The core service utilizing specially equipped vans for safe and comfortable travel for ambulatory and wheelchair-bound passengers.
Wheelchair Accessible / Wheelchair Transportation: Guaranteed provision of vehicles fitted with the necessary equipment (lifts, ramps, securement) to transport passengers remaining in their own wheelchairs.
Doctor Visits Transport / Doctors’ Appointments: Routine transportation for general checkups, specialist consultations, and ongoing medical management.
Dialysis Center Transport: A critical and frequently utilized service for patients who require regular, often multi-weekly, life-sustaining treatments.
Nursing Home Transfers: Transporting residents of nursing homes or assisted living facilities to outside appointments or between facilities.
Medical Appointments: Broad coverage for various healthcare-related visits, including physical therapy, rehabilitation, and lab tests.
Airport Transportation: Specialized accessible transport for individuals traveling to or from New York’s major airports (JFK, LGA, EWR), ensuring a seamless connection to air travel.
Long Distance Transport: Arranging non-emergency trips that extend beyond the immediate local area, catering to patients needing to reach specialized out-of-town facilities or travel across state lines.
Family Events: Providing accessible transportation for non-medical reasons, allowing individuals with mobility issues to attend weddings, holidays, and other social gatherings.
The main features of U.S. Ambulette are centered on their dedication to accessibility and their broad coverage of transportation needs for a specific, vulnerable population in New York City.
- Specialized Focus: Unlike general transportation providers, U.S. Ambulette is solely focused on the Handicapped Transportation Service market, ensuring their fleet and staff training are geared toward the unique needs of mobility-challenged passengers.
- Comprehensive Medical Coverage: Their ability to service a wide array of medical trips—from routine Doctor Visits Transport to critical Dialysis Center appointments—makes them a central resource for ongoing patient care coordination in the community.
- Wheelchair-Centric Fleet: All vehicles are configured for Wheelchair Accessible and Wheelchair Transportation, addressing a fundamental access barrier that exists with most standard urban transport options.
- Wide Range of Destinations: The service extends beyond medical facilities to include Airport Transportation, Long Distance travel, and Family Events, providing independence for personal and social life, not just clinical necessities.
- Door-to-Door Service: The ambulette model typically provides a hands-on, door-through-door service where drivers assist passengers, which is a major highlight for individuals who cannot manage curbside pickup alone.
For scheduling transportation services, confirming coverage, or addressing any service-related questions, New York users can contact U.S. Ambulette directly at the following numbers and location:
Address: 945 E 108th St, Brooklyn, NY 11236, USA
Phone: (718) 946-1000
Mobile Phone: +1 718-946-1000
Given the critical nature of their service—often involving life-sustaining treatments like dialysis—it is essential that clients have clear, reliable communication channels. Users should be prepared to use the main phone lines for all scheduling and real-time dispatch queries.
Choosing U.S. Ambulette is a necessary and often life-enabling decision for New York residents who absolutely require Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) due to mobility limitations. The primary reason to choose this service is that it offers fully compliant, specialized, and dedicated Wheelchair Accessible transportation—a service not reliably provided by standard ride-sharing or public transit in New York City. For those who need regular, pre-scheduled, and physically assisted transport to critical destinations like a Dialysis Center or Nursing Home, an ambulette service is functionally non-negotiable.
The value proposition lies in the specialization: their entire business is structured around the safety and specialized handling of individuals with handicaps, from the vehicle fleet to the expected level of driver assistance. This focus on medical and accessibility needs provides a peace of mind that cannot be matched by generic transportation options.
However, users must balance this critical necessity against documented concerns regarding the operational side of the business. Public feedback indicates that while the drivers themselves may be professional and courteous, persistent issues with dispatchers not answering phones and causing long wait times are a recurring problem. For time-sensitive appointments, this scheduling inconsistency presents a significant risk. Therefore, U.S. Ambulette is worth choosing because it provides an essential, life-critical service that few others offer, but users should manage expectations regarding administrative efficiency and be proactive in confirming pickups well in advance. For many, it remains the only viable lifeline for accessing healthcare, making it an indispensable service despite any operational shortcomings.

August 28 · Takeyana TaylorThe ultimate WORST.. The drivers have no decorum. No kinda empathy, compassion or professionalism whatsoever. They do not speak proper English and maybe it's the communication skills that lack but that does not excuse the nasty demeanor that comes with them. The receptionist are the WORST they make no situation any better. You ask to speak to a higher up it's always a problem or they are not available. Every business has a BOSS. I am a business owner and someone has to always be the overseer of the company at all times in the event that something happens. I am not a patient with this company but if I was the lawsuit I would have filed against this company would have been a lovely one. All of the employees need a crash course on professional etiquette because this type of behavior only harms the company's reputation
February 28 · Dee DeeDo not choose this company. No services nobody answers the phone even you have an appointment. On one will show up or call you. I missed my treatment because this stupid company! I would give a negative star if there is a chose.
February 21 · HONGYANG LIUI am not a client of this company, but judging for the massive 1 star reviews, I can tell their services are garbage. You guys seriously need to hire better drivers. I am working in my house watching one of your driver try to park the vehicle behind my car. There are no cars behind because it was a driveway entrance, so there were plenty of space. How can you still hit my car? Seriously. This isn't even parallel parking. A student driver park can park better than you.
May 15 · Alvin YuI chose not to give them a star but to express my opinion based on what occurred. Go with another company. Don't go with this company or ABBA sane company. On more than one occasion they failed to take me to my treatment. Plus on one occasion I had to not only take alternate transportation to my treatment but to go home from treatment because the driver refused to wait. When I called the company the person I spoke seemed helpful. However, when I called to follow up no help at all. I was very upset and hurt as to no one taking responsibility for their actions. Do not go with US ambulet or ABBA
