Atlanta Rental Car Return Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For any Georgia resident or visitor traveling out of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), the Atlanta Rental Car Return at 2300 Rental Car Center Pkwy in College Park is the centralized hub for dropping off all rental vehicles. Officially known as the Consolidated Rental Car Center (ConRAC), this massive facility streamlines the process of returning a vehicle rented from any of the major national and international agencies that serve the airport. It represents a significant commitment to convenience, moving all rental operations—both pick-up and return—into one location separate from the main airport terminals.
The core purpose of this facility is to provide a single, organized point for vehicle drop-off, regardless of the company you rented from. Once you arrive at the address and follow the well-marked signs, the process is designed to be smooth, quick, and efficient. Agents are typically on hand from the respective companies to process the return directly at your vehicle, completing the transaction in minutes. This centralized approach significantly reduces the time and confusion that might otherwise be spent navigating individual company lots scattered across the airport vicinity.
After the vehicle is returned, the center is directly connected to the Domestic Terminal via the free, automated ATL SkyTrain, which provides a fast and reliable ride straight to the main airport area. While the center's distance from the International Terminal requires an extra connection, the overall centralization of services here simplifies one of the most stressful parts of air travel: the final logistics of getting from your car to your gate.
Location and Accessibility
The Atlanta Rental Car Return is located just over a mile from the Domestic Terminal of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), with the official address being: 2300 Rental Car Center Pkwy, College Park, GA 30337, USA. This College Park address is crucial for GPS navigation when driving in from anywhere in Georgia.
Drivers approaching from Interstate 85 or I-285 should follow the airport signs directing them specifically to the "Rental Car Center" or "Return." The facility is easily accessible by car, and signage is maintained to guide drivers efficiently to the correct lanes. The structure of the center allows drivers to pull directly into designated return lanes, which are typically indoors or under cover, offering protection from Atlanta’s varied weather conditions.
Accessibility from the facility back to the airport terminals is a primary concern for travelers. The ConRAC is connected to the Domestic Terminal (North and South Terminals) by the complimentary, fully automated ATL SkyTrain. This train operates 24 hours a day and provides a fast, five-minute ride directly from the Rental Car Center to the Domestic Terminal’s ground transportation area. For passengers flying out of the International Terminal, a dedicated shuttle bus runs between the Rental Car Center and the International Terminal. Due to the distance and the logistics of the two-step transfer (vehicle return, then transport to the terminal), users should allocate ample time—at least an hour is recommended by experienced travelers—to complete the full return process and reach their departure gate.
Services Offered
The centralized facility at 2300 Rental Car Center Pkwy provides a seamless suite of services focused on the end-of-rental process for numerous major brands, including but not limited to Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, Dollar, and National. This integration of service points within a single building is the central advantage.
- Centralized Vehicle Drop-Off: A single, easy-to-find location for returning vehicles rented from virtually all major car rental companies serving ATL.
- Rapid Return Check-In: Onsite agents from each company are available in the return lanes to perform quick inspections and provide instant receipts, minimizing waiting time.
- 24/7 Return Availability: Most, if not all, rental companies at the ConRAC allow for 24-hour return, providing flexibility for late-night or early-morning flights (though check-in staff presence may vary after hours, often requiring a key drop-box).
- Direct Terminal Connection (Domestic): Free and frequent transport back to the Domestic Terminal via the ATL SkyTrain, a convenient elevated rail system.
- International Terminal Shuttle: Provision of a separate, complimentary shuttle bus service connecting the Rental Car Center specifically to the International Terminal.
- Consolidated Fueling: Gas stations are conveniently located near the ConRAC, allowing travelers to refuel easily before their final drop-off to avoid high gas surcharges.
Features / Highlights
The ConRAC’s design and operation offer several notable features that enhance the travel experience for Georgia users:
- Unified Drop-Off for All Brands: The top highlight is the sheer convenience of having every major rental car company in one building, eliminating the need to drive to multiple off-site lots.
- Swift Check-In Process: Customer reviews consistently point to the return process being "smooth, quick, and easy," often involving simply pulling the car into a lane where an agent is waiting to complete the return.
- Protected Return Area: The return lanes are generally covered, protecting both the vehicle and the customer from rain, sun, or other elements while the final check-in is processed.
- Efficient Rail Transit to Domestic Terminal: The ATL SkyTrain is a significant feature, offering a reliable, free, and non-stop link to the Domestic Terminal and MARTA station, often taking only about five minutes.
- Dedicated International Connection: The existence of a specific shuttle for the International Terminal, while requiring a slightly longer journey, is a necessary and highly valued logistical feature for international travelers.
- Clear Directions and Signage: Despite its size and location, customers report that the directions and signage both on local roads and within the facility are clear, making the drive relatively stress-free.
Contact Information
As the Rental Car Center hosts many companies, direct contact is typically made with your specific rental company. However, the centralized facility information is:
- Address: 2300 Rental Car Center Pkwy, College Park, GA 30337, USA
- Main ATL Airport Phone: (404) 530-3000 (General information line for Hartsfield-Jackson, often used for this location)
When returning a vehicle, it is best to use your rental company's specific phone number or app for any last-minute questions, as the number above connects to general airport services.
What is Worth Choosing the Atlanta Rental Car Return
For any Georgia traveler, choosing the Atlanta Rental Car Return means choosing efficiency at one of the world's busiest airports. This location’s structure and system make the final step of your rental agreement surprisingly stress-free. The key reason to value this center is the centralization of services and the seamless connection to the airport. Instead of hunting down a specific car lot, you follow one clear set of directions and arrive at the shared facility for all major brands. The quick vehicle check-in process, where agents come to your vehicle to process the return, is a substantial time-saver.
The greatest convenience is, arguably, the ATL SkyTrain access to the Domestic Terminal. This free, direct, and frequent train eliminates road traffic concerns once the car is returned, putting you on a reliable, rapid route to check-in. While International Terminal users must account for the shuttle time, the simplicity of having a dedicated transfer system, rather than relying on taxis or ride-shares from a remote lot, is a significant logistical advantage.
Ultimately, the Atlanta Rental Car Return is worth choosing because it simplifies the complex logistics of an airport return into a single, well-managed system, allowing you to quickly shift your focus from driving to flying.

Atlanta Rental Car Return Reviews
It's way too far from the international terminal and the directions are super confusing but at least there are signs everywhere and Google maps can direct you ok. The actual rental car return was fine and I took the shuttle back to the international terminal. It was a little difficult to find the shuttle but you go outside and there is a small sign where the shuttle pickup is located.Shuttle came but wait for another 10 minutes but nobody else came so I was the only one.Dropped off my family and luggage at the international terminal first, then I drove to return the car and meet my family back at the international terminal and it took about an hour total so make sure you leave plenty of time.
October 14 · Dan PaikReturning my rental car was smooth, quick and easy. Just pull up your car in line and the people there will return the car to its proper spot. It is great instead of having to find where your rental car company is.
April 02 · Alexander WongUsually I have a great experience here. This time not so great. There were no hertz employees checking cars in, approaching the desk also did no help because was told I had to go find a helper on my own still. Was told there are plenty of employees working I just have to find them. About 15 minutes later I saw a van pull up and about eight of the employees get out. So the customer had no employee help to check in a car and no assistance in locating employee by any other employees.
September 23 · Lisa VeeEasy and quick. Returning to ATL airport for a flight always requires efficiency since the airport is so busy. Being able to drop off and get to the tra I n in less than 10 mins, with a kind word and smile on my way was a great experience.
September 26 · Leah EveretteThis is the easiest car rental return location in the USA. The shuttle to connect with hotels and the airport is quicker than any place traveled thus far. Prices are higher when renting from airport rental car locations than neighboring city. But convenience is worth paying for. When the car return time has to factor in in flight take off. It's important you get what you pay for.
