MMTI Introduce
For many residents across Los Angeles County, reliable and safe handicapped transportation services are absolutely essential for accessing critical medical appointments, therapy, and maintaining a connection to the community. Located in the South Bay area of California, MMTI is a company categorized as a Handicapped Transportation Service, dedicating its operations to providing specialized transport solutions for individuals with disabilities.
Unlike standard car rental or ride-share services, MMTI operates within the non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) sector, focusing on the unique needs of wheelchair-bound and disabled patients. This type of service is vital for ensuring that all members of the community can secure transportation that is fully equipped to handle mobility challenges, often involving specialized vehicles like wheelchair vans and drivers trained to assist passengers safely and respectfully.
The mission of any handicapped transportation provider is to offer peace of mind and reliability. It is an industry built on trust, especially when dealing with elderly, diabetic, or medically fragile patients who require punctuality and compassionate care. For those in the Gardena and surrounding areas, MMTI’s existence provides an option for these crucial mobility needs, leveraging its central location and specialized resources to serve the local disabled community.
However, users seeking this type of essential service in California must exercise careful due diligence. While the need for accessible transport is high, published customer feedback indicates that there have been serious issues regarding service quality, reliability, and professional conduct from both staff and management. Potential clients should thoroughly review all available information and consider their specific care requirements when evaluating MMTI for their transportation needs.
MMTI is situated in a highly accessible commercial location within the South Bay region of Los Angeles County. Its physical address places it conveniently near major thoroughfares, allowing for relatively efficient dispatching across Gardena, Torrance, and neighboring cities that rely on specialized medical transport services.
- Address: 1919 W Redondo Beach Blvd, Gardena, CA 90247, USA
Crucially for a business serving the disabled community, the facility itself offers necessary physical accommodations, ensuring that any in-person interactions or pre-arranged vehicle viewings are seamless for individuals with mobility challenges. The reported accessibility features demonstrate a baseline commitment to physical inclusion:
- Wheelchair accessible entrance
- Wheelchair accessible parking lot
The strategic positioning on a main boulevard like West Redondo Beach provides a recognizable landmark and a practical base of operations for a service that involves frequent travel throughout the densely populated LA metropolitan area.
As a Handicapped Transportation Service, MMTI specializes in mobility-focused transport solutions. While specific details on their full range of NEMT services are not fully public, the type of business suggests a focus on the following core offerings, which are standard for this sector:
- Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) for individuals with disabilities and medical conditions.
- Transportation services to and from medical appointments, including dialysis centers, rehabilitation facilities, and doctor's offices.
- Provision of wheelchair-accessible vans equipped with necessary safety restraints and lift systems for non-ambulatory passengers.
- Scheduled pick-up and drop-off services, often requiring advance booking to coordinate specialized vehicle availability.
- Dedicated transport for senior citizens or individuals with chronic conditions who cannot use standard public or private transportation.
- Operation within the context of services covered by programs like Medi-Cal or other managed care plans, depending on their specific contracts.
These specialized services are distinct from traditional taxi or ride-share operations, as they require specialized vehicle maintenance, driver training in patient assistance, and a high degree of scheduling coordination to manage the needs of medically vulnerable passengers.
Based on the public information available, the primary features of MMTI are structural and relational, though the latter is heavily qualified by customer feedback:
- Specialized Vehicle Fleet: The company utilizes vehicles equipped for handicapped transportation, likely including wheelchair vans with hydraulic lifts, which is a key technical feature necessary for non-ambulatory transport.
- Accessibility Compliance: Physical accessibility features at the Gardena location, such as a wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot, ensure the facility meets basic standards for serving its target clientele.
- Dedicated Morning Driver: A positive highlight mentioned in one review was the performance of a specific driver, described as "great," who handled the morning pick-ups. This suggests that the company does employ individuals who meet the required standards of professionalism and care.
- Focused Service Area: Positioning itself in Gardena allows the company to focus its services on the South Bay area and adjacent Los Angeles County neighborhoods, where reliable, specialized transportation is in constant demand.
- Use of Standard Contact Methods: Availability through both a local landline ((310) 630-0850) and a direct mobile contact (+1 310-630-0850) facilitates direct communication for booking and urgent coordination.
For California residents needing to arrange handicapped transportation services in the Gardena area, MMTI can be reached using the following details:
- Address: 1919 W Redondo Beach Blvd, Gardena, CA 90247, USA
- Phone: (310) 630-0850
- Mobile Phone: +1 310-630-0850
Given the essential nature of the service, prospective clients should utilize these contacts to fully vet the company's current operating procedures, check specific scheduling availability, and confirm that their level of care can be met before making a booking.
Choosing a handicapped transportation service in Southern California is a decision that impacts the health, safety, and well-being of a loved one, and it is a choice that must be made with caution. The decision to use MMTI should be viewed through the lens of a trade-off between the inherent need for their specialized service and the significant documented concerns regarding its quality and professionalism.
On one hand, MMTI fills a critical niche, providing necessary wheelchair-accessible transport from a centrally located, physically accessible facility in Gardena. The core function—providing a means of mobility to those who are disabled or medically fragile—is indispensable. For patients requiring NEMT services to avoid missing crucial medical appointments, MMTI presents a functional option.
On the other hand, the publicly available customer reviews reveal severe, recurring complaints of unprofessionalism, extreme tardiness (including a one-hour delay for a hungry elderly diabetic patient), and an overall "horrible customer service" environment, with specific allegations against the owner, Art, and staff member, Leticia. Furthermore, there are serious, unresolved reports of drivers allegedly hitting a neighbor's car and failing to report the incident. For a service that elderly and disabled clients are dependent upon for punctuality and safe, respectful care, these accounts are critical red flags.
What is worth choosing, in this context, is the cautious selection of MMTI only after all other highly-rated alternatives in the Los Angeles NEMT market have been considered. Prospective users are strongly advised to seek current, reliable references, clearly document all booking details, and establish strict expectations for punctuality and professional conduct before entrusting the care of a disabled individual to this company. The specialized nature of their vehicle accessibility is a necessary service, but the documented reliability and conduct issues make it imperative for Californians to proceed with extreme vigilance.

MMTI Reviews
The worst service ever except for a great driver that picked up in the mornings only but other than that the owner and all the other driver are so rude and lazy, two of the drivers hit my neighbors car and never bother to get off and file a report or even leave any notes for my neighbor until my own disabled father told me personally then I called and reported but again nothing was done. The owner Art is an unprofessional person that I'm not sure how he is managing a transportation company for disabled people. He was informed of all the incidents and nothing was done about it. The man needs to CLOSED his business or better off take off retired and stay home......
January 20 · Marina C.The van was one hour late picking up my father from Alamitos West Rehab without any disregard for an elderly diabetic patient waiting uncomfortably & restless & hungry. Horrible customer service, from the owner to the staff answering the phone (Leticia), all liars covering up for their errors, very rude & hostile & disrespectful to customers. I spoke to the owner and didn't even do anything to resolve the problem, screaming at me on the phone and pointing the finger to Alamitos West, instead of owning their mistake. I definitely would not recommend any clients to them for transport which reflects on every poor rating score review of their clients. The owner and his staff should learn on proper telephone etiquette and good customer service. This company is the worst transport I have ever encountered. SUPER BAD!!!!
