★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After renting with this location for nearly 5 months through uber/avis I was screwed over for the last time. Was on the 405 headed south drove over some object left the front tire completely flat. I took all the proper protocols without anyone or myself being injured. I explained the situation to Kathy at this avis location twice on the phone before being told to bring the vehicle in and get it swapped for the same one so I can continue with work. Upon my arrival the male service worker tells me I wasn’t supposed to tow the vehicle to this location. Where else is your vehicle going? They then proceed to tell me it was supposed to be towed to the lax location to get a flat tire repaired. At no given point on the phone through multiple conversations was this made known. Kathy then frantically paces out next to her male cow worker and says why is it here? Im overtly confused at this point, and question we just had this conversation on the phone? I made sure to clarify, usually when there is a tire issue you can take it to a location to repair the tire with a voucher from avis. Instead she insisted on me bringing the vehicle downtown to that location. So I do so as explained on the phone. Kathy then further explains that I can use their tow service out of my pocket to get it to there other location at lax or close my contract here and you are unable to rent through avis moving forward. I then question why she asked me on the phone to come to this location if just to have me go to a whole different part of los angeles. Was this a set up from the get go to get there vehicle back? Issue after issue with this location/company and their vehicles. From battery performance issues to tires already below the performance level when given out. This was overall a terrible experience and you will be charged 2X per week for weekly car rentals no matter the bank. So instead of the given $339 you will be paying nearly $700 weekly. But no need to worry they will refund the second payment within 3/4 business days. Just to take it out again 3 days later. It’s a consistent game of catch up and the reviews do not lie. Rent at your own risk.
July 03 · Tyrenso HThis place was initially what I had in mind but was a solid backup plan.I booked my reservation in advance, got to LAX, and the difference in price by location was approximately $500.I Ubered to this location, the staff was generous and pleasant upon arrival. They were informative about all questions asked and gave detailed information. The restroom areas were clean, and the car was rented at a fair value. My only complaint is when I returned the car it was 1 gallon shy of being full and the manager made a big deal out of it.Overall, I didn't have any problems with the rental process
April 04 · T. ChavisI recently rented a 7-seater SUV from Avis and specifically reserved a Jeep Grand Cherokee L, which I chose for its space and comfort. When I arrived, I was told the Jeep wasn’t available — despite seeing three Jeep Grand Cherokee Ls parked in the Avis lot. Instead, I was given a Toyota Highlander, which technically has 7 seats, but the interior cabin space was noticeably smaller. This made our trip more difficult than it needed to be, especially with luggage and family members needing room. I understand substitutions happen, but when the reserved vehicle is clearly on-site, it feels more like a management or prioritization issue.I chose Avis for reliability and transparency, but this experience left me questioning both. I hope they can improve how they honor specific reservations in the future.
July 28 · Q TeeI wish I could give this location a negative 5 stars. I rented a car to do Uber eats, I had the car for about a month when the tags expired, so I couldn't drive for Uber and was losing out on money. I told them about the situation and they told me to bring in the car on a certain date to get new tags. I have previous issues with one of the ladies who worked there because they were charging my card three times the amount for the rental and then putting it back on my card. My issue was with them because if I didn't have the money on my account it would be overdrafting my account. This happened to me on 3 separate occasions charging me almost $900 each time, so we had issues with eachother. When I brought in the car to get the tags that same person and the manager, that I also had an issue with because I asked to speak to him several times about why they were charging me $900 instead of just taking the $300 and he never got back to me. She told me she needed the key and when I handed it to her, she then refused to give the key back, when I've already paid for that week. It was mid-week so when they took the car they somehow charge me an extra $500 stating that I had it for extra days. What makes it despicable they knew what they were doing. Mind you I kept the car for weeks because I was 7 months pregnant and did not want to have to walk anywhere. When my bank statement stated I was charged $500 I stopped payment to reverse it. Somehow even thought there is sufficient evidence that I already paid, that the tags were expired, and that they took it mid week the bank gave them the money back. I also called customer service about this issue because if Avis and or the bank did a thorough investigation they could see that I already paid, that tag were expired and I told them how this lady took the key which very unprofessional knowing that I was pregnant.
August 12 · Tiara SeeneyPLEASE PLEASE PLEASE,!!! Waste your time going here. They never have cars but they continue to let you make reservations online but when you get there , it one story or the other. Their location is in a rat hole somewhere in downtown Los Angeles . They always want to to upgrade you so they can make more money. I have experienced this with them 3 time. The first time I didn’t think much of it, you know one of those days. Then 2 times the same story. The third time I wasn’t even booked with them but the other office didn’t have cars either, so again I was forced to check in with just maybe…… but no. They forget that because you are there to pick up a car chances are you have to get there in a Uber. Extra expensive for nothing. If you value your time and money STAY AWAY. ALL THEY DO IS TRY TO UPCHARGE YOU
