Last week I needed to rent a car and 40 minutes before my pick up time they called to say they had no cars available. How is that possible? We booked this reservation a month in advance. I would think a car rental place would take into thought about making sure reservations would be honored. They called around and found us a car at the Tarzana location from the Van Nuys location. We were told they were holding the car for us, we tried calling Tarzana ourselves to double check cause I already had a bad feeling about it and they would not pick up the phone for over 20 minutes. We called Van Nuys as well and no answer. We get to Tarzana and what would you think they don’t have our reservations nor a car. They didn’t even recall the phone call the other store had with them. We are clearly upset and they offer a car finally (I thought they didn’t have a car available??) and told us we FOR SURE NEEDED to bring it back by this time tomorrow cause they had an important reservation. You guys clearly messed up with OUR reservation. Why is this next one so important you have to tell us that? We called customer service and they offered a free day (woo I guess) we are already and hour and half late and with LA traffic you know that means so much. We had Another reservation this weekend and were told that we can have someone else pick it up and they have done this for us before at the van Nuys location. I get there and I’m told no that they would never do that, they literally have done it before and they told me maybe it was for that time only and they never mentioned that before. I would understand if they did us a solid a first time but be so for real say that then. Avis is definitely the most affordable and I appreciate all the help they have done before. But I don’t know what’s going on now if days that this is just ridiculous. Renting a car is already stressful enough, the lack of communication from their customer service in store and online is just an added stress no one needs.

Had to file with the liability insurance for employees negligence and malpractice may I suggest the same if any errors once so ever arise from this business looking them up online unreal the amount of law suits they have for damages why be another victim so many other choices for car rental
September 30 · One away BingoI usually don't post negative reviews, but Avis/Budget need to improve its service. The rental car I received was dirty, inside and outside. The customer service representative said that the cars have not been cleaned because they were returned during the holidays. I rented the car January 5, so that is not a excuse. Cleaning and sanitizing the car should be a priority specially with current Covid pandemic. This is unacceptable.
August 02 · Monica LimonRenting a car here is inconvenient if you're the only customer and downright painful if there happens to be anyone else present. I was first told they might not have a vehicle ready (despite having made a reservation a month in advance), the vehicle itself was dirty, the tank was not full, and the entire process took 30+ minutes when, as a Preferred member, one expects to hop in the car they select/update in the app. Yet somehow at this location it was as if Avis had never heard of me and all my information didn't exist in their systems. This was legit time traveling back to the 90s when everything was done on paper, initials and signature required on forms that printed from a dot matrix, identification requested and basic personal questions asked, with numerous updates made into the computer. I guess if you're willing to act like it's your first time doing business with this company, they will eventually get you a car - but if you have any illusions of being recognized as a returning customer who rents dozens of cars a year in a relatively efficient and expeditious manner, the experience here will be the equivalent of having teeth pulled.

This AVIS location was closest to our family and was open on Christmas Eve, so we decided to rent from here. Service was good but limited car options and the car we got was not cleaned. The interior had pet hair , food on seat belts, sticky stuff on seats. Pick up and drop off were easy so giving three stars.
