October 09 · Pat BlaserThe rental insurance coverage and emergency response for a flat tire was poor and inconvenient. A defective tire failed from the inside of the tire when a steel belt broke and sliced the tire from the inside with rapid tire deflation. This could have been a serious safety issue at freeway speed. All four tires on the vehicle were approaching there end of useful tread life and due for replacement. Fortunately the tire failure occurred on a 55mph road. The remote controlled lock battery was low and had difficulty unlocking and locking the vehicle. The vehicle was not washed when we picked it up, and had undocumented body scratches.

September 01 · Regina Van BerkumNot a terrible experience...except the "check in online and skip the line" feature didn't help at all...still had to stand in line...long line, 30+ minutes, only one person working it. Once I got the paperwork, it went smoothly (finding the car, leaving the lot thru their checking gate, etc.). They run everything as Hertz so that is where you return the car. The shuttles to/from the airport aren't bad--operate from one point at the airport so you don't need to be concerned with which airline you are flying.

However, the process of return ended up being a nightmare.Turned in my rental car ten minutes early, with pictures taken with timestamps, fuel tank filled. Then my rental was processed a day late and with half the gas in the tank.When I called to resolve the issue with an associate, I was hung up on. Called back and hung up on.And watch for an associate to post below my review, asking me to contact them to resolve the issue. As if they didn't know that I already tried to resolve the issue.I will call the better business bureau about this garbage rental place.EDIT, 6/20/25 10:05amAfter contacting the Better Business Bureau about this issue, I was able to resolve this issue easily because I provided clear information and documentation that was used in a quick dispute resolution.I stand by a one-star rating, when renting from the Airport Dollar Car Rental. If it were not for self-documentation, I would still be in a much more expensive situation than I'd agreed to.As a car renter, you should be ready to cover all your bases, including taking pictures with time stamps, saving receipts and being ready and empowered to advocate for yourself if there's mis-reporting in your bill.
